I'm not sure yet, which one i prefer. The ST9 has some serious balls and a bit more compression though (Meat). The 808 is a bit tighter and a bit more open (Bone). Both very nice and of course driven to the max by me...
What's your favorite?

Hey CrackDeth ... i mean @Techdeth , sorry, i know, it's MethDeth, would you please be so kind and check out the Clip right above this post and tell me which pedal you'd prefer in the Mix?

I prefer the Maxon. That over the top compression fits the music style better. The Ibanez cuts better but you’re not playing Van Halen here so I don’t personally think it adds anything desirable.

I do like the tubescreaner a lil more . But both are great . Great riffs . You got a great warm chunky tone

I think the Ibanez cuts through a tiny bit better in the mix.

Thanks guys. I appreciate your thoughts and replies.

The Ibanez does have more cut, so it's got that going for it. Those are some weird OD settings, having the drive all the way up like that. Personally, I'd turn the drive all the way off or almost all the way off then just keep the level cranked, tone around noon. That's how most players use them, just to boost and tighten up the amps gain.

That's true for a Mesa or similar gainy amps, but not for the Marshall. At least not for me. The 2203 and the overdrive Pedals don't have much gain to begin with.

Ibanez has more fizzy/open top end. When the tracks are stacked it gets a lil sludgey/smeared. The Maxon is punching in the lows/mids & seem to retain the midrange grind better... The tracks are stacking better in the mix too, & just overall sounds more pissed off.. Just my .02
Maxon for me in the case. Dope song

Even with a jcm800, it should be enough gain to just use the pedal like that...level cranked, drive off or really low. Try it, you'll get much better clarity that way.

My sarcastic reply: for Metallica Sounds and other pussy metal stuff see other posts. :D
Kidding aside: I also made a few Videos with classic clean boost settings and with other boosts as well. I tried a few over the years.
And as a side note: Cannibal Corpse play their Rectifiers with Gain on 10 and additionaly boost the hell out of them.
I posted a new clip below.

Thanks. ;) Classic EL34. I had one modded at one time with KT88. But i did not keep it, like so many other amps.
What about this one? Single 57, Dead Center, double tracked, very low bedroom volume. Use good headphones. Or your Stereo.

Chunky as a MF 😍 crazy how low you recorded it but it might of actually helped in the mix. 😛 This one’s a bit louder in the LUFS like .7/.8 but more importantly I feel like the individual notes/chords are balancing out really nicely with your chugs & open low strings! Mic isn’t being overpowered by the low end. Very nice 🤙🏽 Did you treat the guitars at all or is this raw? You’re triggering my GAS for a 2203 🤣
