Huh.. interesting haha. Well this guy definitely had a user name all in caps and the first word was definitely nitro. Funny little coincidence I guess haha.

if he had half the fetish for sheer volume and girth in tone i need to step up my game apparently.

BTW im not joking about a 10,000 watt tube head running at least 1 16 x 12 :D

Well that may not be a good thing, it could mean you have no life outside of the forums!

PS: just kidding :D

I'd buy what I always wanted but could never afford, and then I'd prolly not be happy and buy a pile of more stuff, again, prolly not be happy, etc...

I'd buy
  • A line voltage regulator and decent power supply system
  • A proper rotating Leslie speaker cabinet or whatever works better
  • Mesa/Boogie Revolver speaker cabinet as a backup
  • Wizard Modern Classic amp head with NOS Mullard EL34s and matching cab
  • One of them big Matamp amps, the 1224 I think. Can't remember which model at the moment
  • Mesa/Boogie ElectraDyne amp head
  • old school Dyno My Piano TriStereo Chorus 618 rack piece for shits & giggles plus the mojo value
  • Commission a custom-made electric guitar to my own design. Basically a Les-Paul type but has that magic Fender Twang for clean stuff
  • Get Pete Cornish to tweak some cool noise-reduction thing for my pedals
  • Shitloads of good poweramp valves, Svetlana Winged C 6L6s & EL34s, Mullard EL34s, some KT88s, heaps of JJs etc.
  • Backups of all my current gear (Mesa/Boogie MarkIV, all my Electro Harmonix pedals etc.)
  • MIDI gear to switch it all
  • Some decent microphones and recording gear
  • A valley so I can set all the gear up and get natural reverb, plus isolation rooms for close-mic'ing
  • The Marshall Plexi I SHOULD have bought years ago when I had the chance...

Mind you I already have enough shit as it is! I've got basically three different types of rigs if you split it up, and can be changed to mono, stereo, wet/dry, even wet/dry/wet; not to mention even a little practice setup. Really I want to downsize otherwise I'd own the ElectraDyne by now. The only thing I really need is the line regulator and a Duncan P-Rails for the middle pickup position of my guitar.

It was 1666 when I posted that. You're right though, lately I don't have much of a life outside of RT. :aww:

I am happy with my current gear.

I would buy some private guitar lessons from a lot of top pros though.

:rawk:

Couldn't agree more... I've got all top-notch gear, and plenty of it - I always "go large". If money were no object, the only thing I'd change is the making of more money, meaning, work less, play more. I'd be happy with a fairly solid home studio, not just a session space, but a place I could really open up the gear to play in/record in - and spacious. Funny thing is, I'm putting that together in our next home purchase, complete with sound proofing and a DAW isolated space for the recording gear. As weird as this may be to say, money hasn't been an object - only finding the time to enjoy the things I have has. But the more time I spend enjoying the things I have, the faster the wheels come off this machine I've created for myself. So it goes, the paradox of success, if you will.

Said with no pretense or design of arrogance at all - I always, always, always remember that saying from my fave movie Fight Club, "the things you own, end up owning you". And albeit my shit is all paid for and then some, because I have it, and paid for it, and always buy more gear and it's really my only hobby - well, aside from buggering the odd midget here and there - having nice things in my life is because I work like a dawg at what I do. And sure, that's great - great cash, lots of toys, but if there was only ONE thing I would want in the 'now', it's unlimited time to spend with my family, my friends and my musical pursuits.

Peace,
V.

LOL, I see what you mean now.
When I was at 666 I actually deleted posts just to keep it metal. That got to be a bit much cause I do post a fair amount.

Hey look at the bright side, if money were no object we could surely buy a life ;)
I don't believe money can't buy happiness. It can't maybe buy true love, but that's a whole different story.

I agree. Money absolutely can buy happiness. It's not like every rich person is corrupt. Money just magnifies the person you already are. If I had more money, I'd be a lot happier because I could buy a better house for my family and buy some of the gear I need to write and record music, which in turn would clear my mind of all this gear gas and then I could finally relax a little and think about other more important things. Also, not working a dumb job would be nice. I'd love to spend more quality time with my daughter.
And no, money can't buy love, but it can make the love life you already have a lot more stress free. And that's why I'm back in college. Now, if I could just figure out what the hell to study?

Yes, money was the route cause of both my marriages breaking down. Funny they(my Xs) both ended up with a house and the kids, all I gots to keep was some great memories.
Where were you back in '72?
crysatlyear1.jpg

Do spend all the time you can with your daughter, they grow up far too fast!!!

Amps:
- Trainwreck amps - 1 of each Express, Liverpool, Rocket (or more)
- Dumble - just to see what all the hubub is about. I'd probably spend the money and find a dead one, not tell anyone its dead, and destroy it Office Space style, put it on YouTube, and instantly become a legend in the online guitar community. :-)
- Marshall plexi Super Lead 100watt
- Marshall Bluebreak JTM
- Something silly like a Gjika stereo tube amp.
- VG-99 to play with

Guitars:
- Probably a '59 LP just cause if I won like $100 million, it would be nothing.
- 59 Gibson V
- Miami Pop fest Hendrix strat - I'd buy it from Dweezil. I'm loaded, wtf, right?
- a Custom Suhr modern, or 7...
- a McNaught, Jaros, Mcintruff, Gustavson, Spalt Apex, Breedlove MKI
- I'd pickup a few strats (though I already have a vintage one) & Teles
- I'd probably have Warmoth make me like 20 guitars
- some '60 ES-345s
- Some Benedetto Bennys, archtops, and his Frank Vignola Gypsy Jazz guitar.
- Fuck it, Bob Benedetto would become my personal guitar builder. :-) I'd have him make me a 335-style guitar too, which I haven't seen from him before.
- Ibanez artwood twin double neck (an original, not reissue I think)
- maybe some Max Baranet LPs
- Sharpach Blue Vienna archtop

Acoustics:
- Larson acoustics, if I can find them (or Maurer, Euphonon, Prarie State guitars - all made by larson)
- a few old Gibson L-1s, L-3s, etc.
- old Kalamazoo KG-11, KG-14s
- Leadbelly-style Stella 12 string

Pedals:
- at least 1 of everything. :-)

I'd stick Mike Soldano and Dave Friedman in a room and ask them to collaborate on a one off monster amp for me. It'd have to be water proof because I'll be on an Island some where playing it while in the sand.

shit, i would just take any of ihave27frets rigs... but with my own custom suhrs.

I would just put Cameron, Friedman, Fortin,Titan, Suhr, & Gutierrez on retainer, and have them build shit as I want it. :D

I'm not greedy, I'll just take Fortin Bones please....and maybe a Cornford MKII

I'd probably buy....

Vintage '57 Les Paul Goldtop
vintage 50's Strat
Every PGM model
vintage Brazilian rosewood Martin D-28
Custom built-to-order R. Taylor acoustic
Blackmachines.

Cameron CCV+CCM
A bunch of Two-Rocks
Bludotone
Trainwreck
A collection of vintage Marshalls
and a collection of modded Marshalls

:D
