If you had 2 Scumback M75's & 2 Scumback J75's...would you do an x-pattern in a 4x12?
Or would you do J's on bottom & M's on top?

The possibilities are endless, u could do it many ways I suppose

Haha, I know.
Just wondered if any Scumback users have played with this already...how these 2 models blend with eachother.

I have them in an X-pattern and they sound great. The J's just bring a little more tightness to the mix.

I'd also try the M's on top and J's on bottom, but I"m too lazy to take the back off and do it again!!

I'd give both ways a shot and see how you like 'em.

By my calculations, there are 4 possibilities.

If you switch the wiring, you can get 8 ;) Serious though, i usually try the darker voiced speakers on the bottom and the brighter on top.

I have the M's and J's in a straight cab, and initially experimented with their positioning.
At first, I mounted them with the J's on top and M's on the bottom.
I was curious, so I flipped the whole cab 180 degrees (no casters), which put the J's on the bottom. I felt that gave me a fair idea of what they would sound like in a reversed position

Ultimately, I mounted them in an X pattern, which won out over the other experimental configurations, and sounded better in my Bogner 4x12. I found that the X pattern offered a fair mixture of both speakers, as opposed to having whichever pair were on top, beating out the bottom pair. I stand close to my cabs when I play though, so that is only my experience.
