Anybody who says they will or won't buy an Axe II based on these two clips is a complete moron...in my opinion of couse ;)

I heard two notes with high treble in Marks video so I know I do not want an Axe FX. Also in a few CCV videos around here I heard some very low mid tones, did not like those two or three seconds of the video so no CCV. I will wait to buy an amp once I have heard a clip that will be perfect, tonally and playing wise. Gheeez I mean we ask for clips all the time, so the least people could do is provide the perfect song for everyone, with the perfect tone and make sure all ears are satisfied. Also can't you guys get these clips to show the amps and modeling units to breath? I know in a room this can be done, but we have got to find a way to convey to clips to satisfy everybody.......

Just in case for those out there that do know know what sarcasm is. ^^^^^^^ Is Sarcasm

BTW: For those of you that put out clips, Mark Day, Psychodave, DStroud and I know I am missing a lot more. Thanks as I truly appreciate you guys putting yourselves on the line for criticism all the while trying to help out the community.

Where is the criticism of the men involved??? Some people don't like the way the clip sounds some do. No big deal! I like chocolate, you might like vanilla. I appreciate those guys doing the vids so that, in my case, I have zero desire for the unit. Sheesh, why do people inject emotion where it isn't needed.

No emotion here, just calling it like I see it. It is okay for us to disagree and if emotion did not drive your response then I am not sure what did. I personally prefer Mark's OD100 clips all day long, I am not really worried who likes the clip or not. I just find it funny when people say a specific (insert whatever here) is not for me based on a clip. That is like deciding if you like Chocolate or Vanilla based on looking at it and not tasting it.

No offense meant, just responding to your post as you did mine, wanted to clarify a few things.

^^^^ This!!

But it is not just clips, you have to get something that will have forum cred as well. Clips are good, Actually playing and liking the amp is great, but without forum cred well, you will just be left wanting......

Like a Miller Lite commercial...........

Tastes great
Less filling

These clips are made for marketing purposes to influence purchase decisions.

Let the chips fall, there are enough apologists on the internet.

I don't care for Marks tone in the first clip. Sounds like a POD with all of that mid-range :aww: Playing was great as usual.

The second clip was nice, but I still didn't care for the latter part with added gain.

I have come to the conclusion that digital modeling sounds best with clean type tones. Once any real gain is added, it tends to sound processed. Of course there are exceptions to everything... ;)

I don't think they had that preamp tube cover sim on, Dave.....

Had to go there :D

so you buy stuff based on people opinion? hype? what?

to bad for you, i trust my ears over anything

Thank you Brad, Rob, Cliff, Mark, Mike, and any others involved with creating these clips.

I appreciate the effort and think there are many positive things about the sound of the clips.

Mark is the II any easier to work with?
And does it still have the same basic presets...2290 PCM 70 crystal echoes brown etc?

I play it myself...a novel concept to you I'm sure. If it makes you happy, keep on keepin on with ur clipz...keep in mind that you are hearing the effects of the room, the mic, mic placement, speakers, Youtube compression, etc. Clips can pique my interest but they're no substitue to plugging in and trying in real time. Clips don't capture feel and dynamic response which are also hugely important to me.

i agree with you on that, sadly i dont have $2,200 for just tried a preamp, plus you need a good poweramp too. so, again, its the HBE model(on the best marshall models on the axe right?), plus a VHT Classic and a 412 with M75´s... so if do not sounds great to me, there is something wrong really

Yeah, I didn't care for the first one either, but in my experience it's all in how it's dialed (go figure).

I really liked the first part of that second video, however.

Hoping to log some time on the AFXII tomorrow, so we shall see :D

Yeah, I really like all the clean clips I've heard so far, but I still haven't heard a distorted tone that I like. All the clips seem too smooth not enough hair.

I didn't care much for the tone in the first video either. Maybe it was the effects? It sounded very wet somehow.

The second one I liked better, but I think it's because that's the sound I tend to go for anyway.

From what I can tell, I am glad to be on the waiting list. From the sounds I heard in the second clip, I know I can get the tones I want from the unit.

How was this recorded? It sounded like it was from the video cam?

Funny. The only way you can get this thing is through mail order.
Do any stores around the country have them? I don't know.

Someone made the condescending comment about playing through something first before buying. How is that supposed to happen with this type of product?

Honest question. Who would spend that type of cash on something they couldn't play? Word of mouth? Compressed Internet clips?

You're right, of course. But it's easy to order and just send it back... which might turn out to be a better option than having to sit in a little corner of the local music shop with annoying teens trying to crank out Amon Amarth tunes in the (not so) background. As a matter of fact, living out in the middle of nowhere, it would be damn cool if I could get any amp I want delivered for a little try-out.

I don't like the AxeFX clips so far. I guess I'm more into raw tones and most AxeFX clips seem to be made by people who like processed tones and rack effects, so it's hard to judge the realism of the amp models – I couldn't care less about the effects.

All clips that have been posted thus far sound very, very good. Well done gents!
:)

Oh, I understand. If it were in a shop around here, no one would even notice it and it would sit there for a year. No doubt about it. :aww:
