Slept 3 hours, just hit the Gym, back at it in a few hours. No Rest For The Wicked....

You guys are shaking the pillars of heaven!

Some great tunes on that disk, wonder if Mark can play 'em through the CCV !

Clean and Overdriven Axe Fx 2 clips with Mike Young at Tone Merchants in North Hollywood today. Sounds Great.

Clean sound is a Dumble sim and the Dirty is a Friedman Marsha Sim.

very nice

Liked the Mike Young video a lot, sounded a lot like a tube amp I must say!!! Nice chops too!

Didn't dig the tone from Mark Day bit (killer playing of course)

Never had an Axe in my hands, so I can't really say if it actually sounds better than the Axe I or if its just marketing hype

I've heard great clips of the first unit too...we'll see...

FINALLY. An Axe FX clip that is compelling enough to make me want to get one!!

Mark etc what was the recording chain? Was it direct or through the VHT and cabs?

If its through the VHT and cabs I'd love to hear a similar clip recorded direct as a comparison.......

I liked it,Mark is a great player, think it sounded good, and i'm guessing they had to get Dave to approve it?
Not to crazy about the Axe FX itself only because it's not tube but i give those guys alot of credit for pulling it
off. Can we hear some CCM clips?

psychodave just did a CCV clip. The Axe is cool, but it's no CCV. It doesn't "breathe".

Great player and all and good noodling, but that wouldn't make me want to run out and buy one for any reason. If that strap was any tighter, Mike would be playing a fiddle!

Like the vid with the cleans. Sounds really good. Surprised me.
Didn't like the Mark Day gain clip at all. Great playing but sounds sterile. Very SS.

Just a thought. When recording gain tones I'd make sure the tone was bone dry. Shows the true tone.

Sorry, does not want. Sounds decent for clean and weedely delay stuff, but I still haven't heard I tight high gain rhythm sound that sounds great. Could be a great tool for someone geared towards those type of sounds.

I don't care for Marks tone in the first clip. Sounds like a POD with all of that mid-range :aww: Playing was great as usual.

The second clip was nice, but I still didn't care for the latter part with added gain.

I have come to the conclusion that digital modeling sounds best with clean type tones. Once any real gain is added, it tends to sound processed. Of course there are exceptions to everything... ;)

i agree

and that clip was with a VHT Classic and a Marshall 412 with Scumbacks M75´s...
sadly you cant get any better than that

the only good thing is that clip save me $2.220 cuz i was really interested in the Axe Fx 2

I liked both the clips ..The higain one was more geared to a hard rock tone IMO .but I like that stuff .I have no interest in death metal chug but I know lots do .
I have heard great Axe clips for that so i am sure you will not be disappointed..

Beside can you really go on one quick clip ?.I know many a person who loved the Splawn clips and bought the amp and hated it

I heard two notes with high treble in Marks video so I know I do not want an Axe FX. Also in a few CCV videos around here I heard some very low mid tones, did not like those two or three seconds of the video so no CCV. I will wait to buy an amp once I have heard a clip that will be perfect, tonally and playing wise. Gheeez I mean we ask for clips all the time, so the least people could do is provide the perfect song for everyone, with the perfect tone and make sure all ears are satisfied. Also can't you guys get these clips to show the amps and modeling units to breath? I know in a room this can be done, but we have got to find a way to convey to clips to satisfy everybody.......

Just in case for those out there that do know know what sarcasm is. ^^^^^^^ Is Sarcasm

BTW: For those of you that put out clips, Mark Day, Psychodave, DStroud and I know I am missing a lot more. Thanks as I truly appreciate you guys putting yourselves on the line for criticism all the while trying to help out the community.

Where is the criticism of the men involved??? Some people don't like the way the clip sounds some do. No big deal! I like chocolate, you might like vanilla. I appreciate those guys doing the vids so that, in my case, I have zero desire for the unit. Sheesh, why do people inject emotion where it isn't needed.
