Funny. The only way you can get this thing is through mail order.
Do any stores around the country have them? I don't know.

You're right, of course. But it's easy to order and just send it back... which might turn out to be a better option than having to sit in a little corner of the local music shop with annoying teens trying to crank out Amon Amarth tunes in the (not so) background. As a matter of fact, living out in the middle of nowhere, it would be damn cool if I could get any amp I want delivered for a little try-out.

I don't like the AxeFX clips so far. I guess I'm more into raw tones and most AxeFX clips seem to be made by people who like processed tones and rack effects, so it's hard to judge the realism of the amp models – I couldn't care less about the effects.

Oh, I understand. If it were in a shop around here, no one would even notice it and it would sit there for a year. No doubt about it. :aww:

I wish things were that easy. I have had to purchase Splawn, Diezel, Bogner, Suhr and the first Axe FX to try them as no place anywhere near Tulsa Oklahoma has any of these items to try. Pretty much most of the gear discussed on this forum cannot be tried out unless you live near a major city and have a Tone Merchants available to you. Luckily I have always known the value is there if you purchase smart so if you do not like you can sell and try something else.

BTW Marshalls are here at guitar center and so are Mesa Boogies however. I for one notice both and actually dig a few models of each.

Anybody who says they will or won't buy an Axe II based on these two clips is a complete moron...in my opinion of couse ;)

I heard 3 clips and i don't want it. Is that good enough for you? Well, i just won't spend $2200 for a modeler either.

Fool me once, shame on you.

Fool me twice, uh, you can't be fooled again!

sounded good to me, OTOH the CCV clip posted elsewhere sounded like a first gen POD...

Hey guys, a few comments:

I'm not playing through the VHT or the 4X12's. I have an EAW NT59 wedge on the floor in front of me. You can see it at the beginning of the video when Mark pans to the left.

He used an Edirol recorder for sound. It's sitting behind me on one of the cabinets.

On the lead tone, the only effect is delay. The swells are the same delay with some reverb added. I believe the clean patch in the beginning is only delay as well, but I may have added reverb. No other effects.

This was not pre-arranged. I had gone down to check out the II and the guys asked me if they could record some clips because people had been asking for clean tones, etc.

Yeah, I've always worn my guitar high. And with the 100 or so pounds I've gained over the years, it's crept even higher. :)

Thanks to all for the kind words.

What is an EAW wedge? Powered?

EAW NT59 powered speaker. They're discontinued but you can still find info if you do a search on google.
