After buying my Ibanez Prestige AZ2402 and loving it I was contemplating buying another AZ2402.
I tried another one and it just did not do it for me like my first one, rather than try a 3rd one I decided to look at other guitars.

Other guitars I was thinking about were...

Fender American Ultra II Telecaster, Fender Richie Kotzen Telecaster, Fender Player II Modified Telecaster, Charvel USA Select DK24 HSS, and a couple of others.

The Ultra II Tele did not have the true Tele snap and twang I like, kind of hifi sounding from vids I have watched and also owning the Ultra II HSS Strat.
The Richie Kotzen Tele strayed too far from a traditional Tele with only a Humbucker option at the bridge.
The Player II Modified Tele was a strong contender, I also own a Player II Modified HSS Strat, but the modern C neck is a bit thinner than I like which causes me hand cramps at times.
The Charvel just doesn't sound great in videos and is also very expensive for what you get.

The Ibanez LB1 (Lari Basilio signature) guitar was not even a guitar I though about, but in my video searches I came across it.
It is based on a Tele body shape, has custom designed Seymour Duncan pickups, Tele at the neck, Strat at the middle, and a Humbucker with coil splits at the bridge.
It has 9 different tonal options.
It has a compund radius neck going from 9"-12". I love the neck on my AZ2402 which is a 12" radius all the way.
The guitar is gorgeous in White with Gold Hardware.
I do not like to buy Signature guitars, but the specs are right and it doesn't say anything on the front of the Headstock.

The two I am looking at are 7lbs 4oz and 7lbs 10oz, whichever one they ship is fine with me.
My 7lb 9oz Ibanez AZ was better than the 7lb 2oz one I tried.

It should arrive Wednesday or Thursday and as usual I always wait a day to let it acclimate to room temp.
After that I will proved a review and video demo as soon as possible.

Sounds like a good plan
I haven't played a prestige that i didn't like

I was tele shopping for a while and really didn't know if i wanted modern or more vintage/traditional. I wanted a RW board

I fell in love with the ultra ii on the first strum. Has an Ebony board.

$2300 was a bit much for what i needed it for. I clicked around and found this mint on at GC used for $1499.

I jumped right on it. No case or candy but for that price i really didn't give a fuck

Bought a case on temu for $55 and it's surprising sturdy and very well made. On par with any $139 case

That is a great looking guitar you found.
I wanted a Rosewood Board if I did the Player II Modified.
I probably would have went Ebony on the Ultra II Tele since I have Maple on my Ultra II Strat.

I didn't really want a traditional Tele, I really wanted a Super Strat style guitar, the Ibanez LB1 is a marriage of both.
