Never owned, played, or even heard a Wizard in person. But its the only amp that has haunted me. So I gave in to the gas. Pretty stoked!

Envy you man!!
Same here. Its a bucket list amp for sure!!

Big congrats!
Best amp I've owned out of a slew!
Fat, aggressive, and clear as a bell

What speakers are you using with your MTL?

I have 2 Wizard cabs - one for my MTL and one for my MCII - both are loaded with Scumback J75s 65w on top and Celestion v30s on bottom. I love that combo with the Wizards.

I have a pair of Creamback 65s. Ill probably put those up top. But not sure what to mix them with on the bottom. Either V30s, or maybe Creamback 75s ??

My 2 main 4x12 cabs are a Wizard cab with 2 Heritage G12M 25's on top and 2 Heritage G12H30's on the bottom and an EVH with 2 Heritage G12M 25's on top and 2 V30's on the bottom. ( guess where the 2 G12M's for the Wizard cab came from   )
Both my MTL and MCII sound best to me with the Wizard cab with the H30's on the bottom.
The MTL sounds ok through the EVH cab with the V30's on the bottom, but I don't like the MCII with the V30's.
I guess I would say go with the M65 / H75 Creamback mix to start, and see what you think.
Are you a fan of the V-30 voicing in the mids? The Wizard's are so clear and punchy that I find V30's a bit much, but see what you think of the amp when it lands.
And congratulations
You won't be disappointed!!

You will say its the best amp I've ever played...then sell it in 4-6 months...Just kidding I hope it rules. I had a MC2 which recorded great but I couldn't jive live. Still want to try MTL

Congrats! I never played a MTL but the MC2 is one of the best amps of all time. So I am sure the MTL will kill!

  This resembles my experience..Wizards are amazing and are the clearest, most uncompressed amp I've ever played..as great as my MTL was I just had days where I felt like a hero with it and others not so much. Hard to explain. My SLO is very clear and open, with an unrelenting power that is addicting-the Wizard MTL also has these attributes but I seemed to fight it sometimes.
In the end I just couldn't justify all the coin tied into it when there are other amps that I knew from owning previously that I get along with a little better..SLO, Camerons, Jubilees....so I traded it off.
But I'd love to have another if I don't have to sell everything else to get one! Just can't keep em all...
Looking forward to your review!

BTW my MTL loved Greenbacks or variants(65s, early 75s) best.

I like mine the best with Creambacks H75's.

It's an awesome amp :)

Wow, congrats. That's the one amp which has eluded me for too long.

I have had a slew of amps, and currently own a 2016 MTL with wizard 4x12 and 2x12 cabs. Cabs all have Creamback 65's. It's the one amp that I won't sell. It covers just about everything I throw at it. No need to goose it up front with an overdrive. It has gobs of clear uncompressed gain on tap. You will be very happy I assure you.

Im sure at some point Ill wind up getting a Wizard cab. I have a Bogner cab with V30s. To be honest, sometimes the V30s bug me. Too strident. I also have a 4x12 loaded with WGS Vet 30s, and they are much more relaxed.
Ill try the Wizard with both of course. But Im leaning towards a Creamback loaded cab.

I know I will have to let my ears adjust to the Wizard tone. My main amp is an XTC, and I imagine it to be the total opposite of the MTL tone
