Hello RT,

Sold a guitar on Reverb (local meetup) and bought another off of Sweetwater's Gear Exchange.

The messaging system was nice.

I tried to buy a piece or two off of there previously but would have no response from sellers and then items listed already sold somewhere else.

This time, every single seller was very quick to respond and listings seemed to have legitimate descriptions and stuff.

Maybe people are getting to know about it and use it a bit more, or maybe I was just lucky.

Anyway, incoming gear.

Really hoping this thing makes it to me safe and sound.

What is it? Well, my first from a certain brand.....

Take a guess.

Here is the hint that will have the first poster guess the correct answer: Lawyer/Doctor.

Sounds like a PRS. Ive had great experiences in gear exchange
Ding! Ding! Ding! You are correct.

That's awesome to hear. I personally need to go ahead and put all of my listings over there.

Being able to keep in SW to spend for 0% is ridiculously nice if it also applies to anything in Gear Exchange......

PRS McCarty 10 Top. Year: 2000. Refretted with Stainless steel frets. He said he always took it to a professional to be set up. I told him how to check relief and sounds good. I'm always worried about truss rods when I buy used gear.

I will check it out when it comes in and see what's up.

Anyway, here it is.

Normally your rig talk credentials would be rejected based on PRS ownership but gold hardware covers a multitude of sins. That is a sweet looking axe brother, hopefully she plays and sounds as nice as it looks so good luck on the purchase! Paging @SmuggNorris that guy loves a good PRS 10 top.....

Many many thanks. I was worried about my RT cred but it was such a good deal.

My wife wanted me to be sure I got a guitar I could sell in the future, since the one I bought was for that purpose.

I was thinking of flipping up and up until I got something really special but I may have just lucked out early in the process.

With the flip of the other guitar, I am not really deep into this financially.

The only pics I currently have are from requesting to see any damage marks on the guitar. Made sure the headstock and serial looked proper and there was the little "10" written. Will be sure to update the thread once it arrives. Tracking shows this Friday....Fingers crossed!

Thanks for the mention @VonBonfire. I don't peruse the forum as often as I once did, but it's nice to see a mention with such a beautiful guitar contained therein. @Music&Chaos, you picked up quite the guitar there, my brother. Gold hardware is surely a beautiful thing. If you want, I'll call Paul up and see if he'll sell you some of the new pickups he forces immigrant children to wind for him plated in 24k gold. They weigh a ton, but the tone is unmatched. Also, since he owes me a few favors, I can get him to drill out the fret markers and replace them with blood diamonds. It's a very niche service, only for the most loyal of customers. Just tell him Smugg sent you, as he'll deny it if you ask about it. You have to be initiated, if you catch my drift.

I prefer the bird inlays done in swarovski crystals, emeralds, and rubies but I suppose that's just a matter of my taste in luxuries rather than anything that would make for more haunting mids.

From all of the research I have done, the 2000 McCarty should be finished in Nitro.

Bird inlays of that caliber would actually possibly look cool, unlike the dragon inlay guitars they do.

Neat that this one has the Crescent inlays.

Stainless steel frets upgrade is a huge bonus in that I can actually play the hell out of it without worry or ever wearing them down in case I ever decide to sell it in the future.

Nitro is cool for the feel but I also dig poly for the durability factor. I never complain about either finish. Poly holds up to the gigs though!

I don't mind the birds....or the dragon tbh. I guess Paul's mom was an avid bird watcher and that's his tribute to her. I changed my mind about them when I heard that.

Stainless frets are awesome. Never deal with a luthier again!!!

That's gonna be a sick guitar man, I bet you are beside yourself waiting to get your paws on it. I wish I could try out one of the McCarty hollowbodies cause I love semi-hollows but those are so far outside my price range it'd never happen. I'm excited for you brother!!!

I am also personally a fan of the bird inlays, but the Crescent inlays are cool too for sure.

With the extra made from the flip, I am only into this guitar for like $1200.

Again, the previous guitar was bought as a type of investment/flip, so the aim of this one was to get a solid deal and use the extra made from the previous flip to knock my investment down.

I'm with you on everything you just said. Excited for you tbh.
