Surprised it seems no one here owns one yet. I am considering one but looking for real world reviews beforehand. There seems to be very little out there about the VH2 at this moment.

Awesome amp. great clean channel and the 3rd channel from the VH4.

Actually they blend the VH4 1&2 into channel one, and the VH4 3&4 into channel 2. So the voicing will not be quite the same.
Heard this from the video here...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7h8qOoF3RH0

I'm about to find out as i've just orded a VH2....we'll see...problem is i've never heard a VH4..so my opinion once i get it wouldn't include that experience.

Okay...eesh. Well first off i own a ENGL powerball 2 and a DV mark maragold. Love them both for their very different tones one being an 6L6 and one being a EL34.

The VH2 is KT77 which is quite different than both those amps. I was able to squeeze a nice tone bringing in more highs using small touches on an MXR 10 band eq. It left me wanting for highs...pretty much on all 3 of my cabs, but the eq sort of helped. I'm a 6L6 guy i guess because a lot of the amps i think sound great have 6L6 tubes. That said i really like the clarity of my ENGL better. The smokey EL34 tone from my DV mark also has great clarity and is VERY articulate. This VH2 is between that..but it doesn't have the clarity of either of my other amps. It does have that German bottom end that my engl has but the VH2 is a lot duller. As to where my ENGL sounds juicy and thick. I personally wasn't "blown away" by this amp, but it was not bad by any means.

Now i have several guitars to experiment with...and most all my guitars sounded too dull...making me unhappy with the tone.
One of my guitars is brighter than most, a Kiesel GH24. Now that guitar on the VH2 sounded awesome! So when i'm playing on that head i'm on the Kiesel. Bandmates were like the "The Kiesel likes the Diezel" lol. My PRS SC594, Jackson PC1, sounded very dark. My PRS artist custom 24 sounded good on it too, but its got a different tone than most other PRS cu24s i've owned.

All in all I've only had a few hours with the amp...but i think my struggles are mostly me dealing with my first encounter with KT77 tubes.

All that being said...it mixes well jamming along with the ENGL...the VH2 is a completely different tone..and compliments the ENGL. That was my goal anyway.

Interesting...it confirms a lot of my experiences with Diezels.

I've had a VH4 and a Hagen, and while they were both very cool sounding amps, I dig my Powerball II and Steve Morse Sig heads better. I think the Engls gets a wider variety of tones, and there's just more clarity to the high gain sounds. I can hear more of the frequency spectrum cutting through than I could on ch 3-4 of the Diezels.

Just my $0.02.

Switch to EL34's and I think you will find a tone more suited to all your guitars.

I love my VH2. Changed the kt77s to el34's and it came alive.
I never had a VH4 so I can't compare them.

How good is the clean channel? Takes pedals well?

Does the amp sound good at bedroom volume?

The VH2 is described DIRECT off the Diezel website as the following:

So, Channel 1 is a blend of the Pauls Ch.1 and Ch.2, and the Channel 2 on the VH2 is "Ch.3 VH4"
Done.

Did you get one Unkle Mo?
Nope. Although I'd really be quite interested in trying one out and seeing a) what the first channel is all about, and b) if it does the VH4 Ch.3 thang. But to splash on it just for curiosity sake? Likely not - I'd just be keen to try one to feel it out. I've been a long time VH4 owner, it's a staple in the stable, and for good reason - it's special. But I gotta say? It's Ch.3 80% of the time - and that's a lot of "AMP" for hanging around one channel. As Stapfer would say, "Well, sell the other three channels then...!!" (it's a joke they mention on their site and to clients about the only channel they use on the VH4). I think this is a cool option - 2 channels - and the price is banger for exactly that.

Gotta say though, I'm more a Hagen cat. And am now circling around the D-Moll.... Just different flavours from the norm. I like different. And I run in stereo so it's less about an all-in-one amp than it is does-it-complement-the-other-amp to get where I wanna go. But I love the Hagen :D

The clean channel is good. I really hardly ever use it. It's not a fender but it's not the sterile Soldano clean either.

I don't use pedals in front. Never have. The loop is one of the best I've heard. I use an FX8 in the loop and it sounds Fantastic.

Since I can't seem to find a band the amp has only ever seen the inside of my bedroom. My wife has a bad case of tinnitus as do I. So the volume stays ar mouse fart levels except when I'm the only one home.
I can't say enough about how much I like this amp. Yes, it sounds great at low volume but it really shines when you start to turn it up.

Nice work, sounds great!

I'm surprised I haven't seen more about these amps. I think Diezel made them a few years too late to really capitalize on demand. A few years ago people were raving about the VH4 but it was so expensive. Now these is the VH2 which seems like a good compromise to get that Channel 3-ish tone that was all the rage, but the hype has moved on and it doesn't seem like there's much buzz about it.

At least that's sort of where I am. I've owned two VH4s and played a few others and love them. A few years ago I could have talked myself into a VH2, but at this point I think I just like Marshalls.

I find since they switched to BAD as US distributor you dont teally see much promotion for them
It is strange they have been out s while but asc others mentioned not much push similar to the Synergy products yhey sell ,compared to the Freidman stuff. Hopefully Soldano works out better

Spent time with Fokker, Herbert, D-moll, VH4 and by FAR, the 4 is more my thing than the others. I really want to try the 2.

Wasn't it also mentioned at one point that the gain was kicked up a notch on the VH-2 as opposed to the VH-4? Supposed to be a touch more aggressive?

One could only hope not. As *any* change to the holiness of the coveted "VH4 Ch.3" would leave purists pissed. They may not even be able to detect a difference in the tone from the original 4 channel model, but just "knowing" there "could be" a change is where the sonically-obsessed delve into a spiral of madness.

:student:

Channels 3 and 4 always had more gain than they knew what do with, IMHO. I had a hard time using Channel 4. Channel 3 had this great snarl and thump, but seemed a bit squished or congested. Channel 2 was much more open, but too smooth and the gain gave out just before I wanted it to.

I always wanted a VH4 with a channel 2.5
