I'm going to get the replex
I used to have the g-force for a long time when I had the rack set up
but I really only used an echo type setting for leads

and as for stereo or rhythmic delays, they are cool, but I don't know the world doesn't need another EDGE

hopefully I'll be able to find one setting on the replex that works

I use the oberheim digital echoplex for looping

Cool review, thanks. I still have my replex and love it, I always thought the damage control unit looked cool and thought about pulling the trigger but I would rather a have a few different small boxes, I get frustrated dealing with too much in one unit. I stumbled across this on youtube the other day, this might turn out to be a killer delay. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M2yDjVsnGN8

yup the replex is just so fat and toneful and enjoyable. i love that thing but it is sorta limited for a digital unit and should have at least tap tempo.

i find the timeline lacking in the input level area...there is no input level control, only a fx mix knob, yet it seems to handle a wide range of input levels from instrument to loop line level.
the echolution and replex have an input level/drive control with LED clip indicator which is very valuable to me and maximizes the input section.

the timeline also doesn't allow you to control the 2nd and 3rd head volume in the multihead echo which is a bit limiting. but every setting on the timeline is storable and recallable via midi or on one of it's user preset positions so that's hip. i wonder if adding that input drive level control on this unit would take it into the next level...it's just not super buttery like replex/echolution. or 2290 :D

i had my friend who is a line 6 DL4 fan, and who's DL4 presets are the only ones I've ever really liked the sound of, try the timeline and he was finally able to hear what i've been saying about the line 6 tone suck...the lightbulb went off!

i'd still like to mess with empress superdelay, skreddy echo, and time factor for a day. i hear the time factor updates are great sounding and more tape analog approved.

Im a tape echo freak and i still think the replex is the closest to the real deal. Have u tried the Electro Harmonix memory man?
FWIW, I dig the U-Audio UAD2 laptop card running the Cooper Time Cube so much I'm considering using the lap top for a processor. Alternatively I gotta get a Time Cube...

I would love the day I could gig with my iphone. Via Bluetooth

Hilarious

the future:

bluetooth transmitter/receiver plugged into gtr input jack that wirelessly sends gtr output to iphone and listens to a bluetooth footcontroller with expression pedals (which the iphone can dock to for power)-

-which changes fractal app patches on the iphone, with the help of a fractal dongle/breakout engine

which theoretically could be built into the footcontroller

that eases overworking iphone system resources/limits and provides physical outputs to monitor amps and PA; and for courtesy can provide an auxilliary throughput for a vocal mic

-changes pickup selection via digital switcher installed in gtr-

and controls anything else you can do via midi, or store on an iphone...sequenced backing tracks if you play solo (and patch change and lighting cues and digital mixer effects and fader cues for that matter!)

record your performances on audio and video straight to idisk for webstreaming or archiving off limited phone storage

monitor stage volume and feedback detection in real time with studio 6 digital apps

Thou shall not play Judas Priest with a strat. :D Timeline rules  What do you find yourself setting the mix at? In a parallel loop i had to put it at least halfway, but the grit does add some volume to it. Sounds great.

Sound great man I have been wanting to hear that with some gain
I have been looking for something to add a little chorus/reverb to my clean channel and reverb/delay for leads..
I guess I am going to drop the coin on a Glass Nexus or Time line this week..

Thanks for posting the clip..

admittedly i only have a few hours experience with the timeline, and that delay i used with the high gain stuff wasn't dialed in perfectly, but it's an idea what the delay sounds like.

i'm really a fan of dynamic ducking on high gain and the timeline nor the echolution does that.
and nothing i've heard does that better than the 2290.

but tomorrow i check out the axe-fx so we shall see....

wouldn't you want to set the mix full wet in a parallel loop?

for use with the eggie series loop i'm setting it at about halfway max, unless like the reverse delay i want the wet signal to be all that i hear, at which point i dime the mix full wet.

i ran sound friday at a church i've never been to before and they had a small 24 channel mackie board with a tc mulitfx unit set for 50 percent wet, and prior to knowing this when i turned up the aux send that fed the fx, the singer's voice got loud and out of phase...i thought at first the fx was set for flanger or phaser :D

once i found out what was happening i showed the resident tecnodude what was happening and reset the tc properly for full wet, as well as set a compressor in engine one which digitally routed internally to feed the reverb in engine two, and he looked like "wow that sounds so much better but i don't want to look surprised because i've been mixing here for years and never knew why it sounded that way, nor even knew anything was wrong, nor really have no idea what you just did..."

Thanks for the info man

Unfortunately every place that I have looked online for it either says it is discontinued or on back order..
I just emailed Damage Control to see if they are only on back order and when they will be available again..
After hearing your Video and a few p.m.'s with Danyeo, I think I should be happy with it..

The only Negative thing for me is now I will probably have to buy more stuff for the midi control, Linking it with channel switching on my amp and keeping it to just a few pedal buttons so I can access everything and keep it under control..

My loop has send and return knobs so I dime the send and put return around 70% up. On the Timeline I the mix knob worked well around 50% to 70%. But the grit did add volume.

Go with the Timeline. The Nexus doesn't give you as much control over delay.

Give Mesa Boogie a call since they could use your help writing their next product brochure.  Ever read the nonsense they talk up?
