So last Saturday my wife sets up a night out with some of her friends for dinner and gambling at Foxwoods Casino which is about 45 minutes from my place. My wife runs the customer service/concierge portion for a private aviation Jet Center and gets to meet lots of people.

One guy in attendance is Steve who tells me that he likes to travel so he volunteers his services around the world with a doctors without border program for animals and goes around the world fixing up hurt animals of all kinds.

He goes on to tell us about an intersting story that just happened to him a few weeks back. So he finds himself in St Vincent in the Caribbean on a vet mission doing something with Feline disease of some type. He gets approached by a local asking if he could take the trip over to the island of Mustique as a freind has a very sick dog and needs attention immediately and there is no Veterinarians on the island.

He agrees, gathers his gear and prepares to take the quick boat ride over. When he gets there he is picked up in a Jeep and taken to a villa on a hill overlooking the Sea. He is summoned to a bedroom with a patio set up straight out of the movies with the white canopy bed and ocean beyond. In it is a older yellow lab who is obviously really sick and laying on its side with a waxy look.

He starts examining the dog and doesn't notice the man who walks up behind him and when he finally does turn to look, he sees Mick Jagger from The Rolling Stones looking over his shoulder. Steve is surprised to as shit to see Mick standing there and acknowledges him and continues to examine the dog. Mick thanks him for coming, sits in a chair for 30 minutes while he does his thing and watches.

Steve figures out whats wrong (some kind of worm thing thats prevalent in the islands) and works on the dog with the equipment he has with him. He tells Mick that he will need to get a certain kind of medicine flown out and Mick will have to administer it to the dog 4x a day for the next 3 weeks and take care of him if he is to survive.

Mick is on the island with a girlfriend and no domestic help and tells Steve he has to fly out and cannot stay on the island with the dog. Steve tells him someone will have to stay with the dog and follow the regiment he is prescribing. Mick tells Steve, I tell you what, if you will agree to stay on and do everything you can help my dog get better you can use my Villa, my car and I will have chefs come in 3x a day and make you meals and give you $25,000 cash when I get back.

Steve agreed, Mick had the worm medicine flown in from Miami that day and Steve ended up staying 4 weeks until Mick showed back up and was able to get the dog back to health. He was given $25,000 in $100 bills US in a bag and thanked for his time. For his efforts he got to stay in Mick Jaggers villa for nearly a month, on one of the most exclusive islands in the world. had gourmet meals 3x a day. had the run of the island and drove the dog all around in the Jeep and met the neighbors who on one side was Shania Twain and the other side had Richard Branson and got a bag of money for the effort. That is some Karma in play there for sure.

Cool story and he said there was not one bit of Stones stuff in the villa and just one "old" Martin acoustic guitar. I thought it was a great story especially over a glass of Johnny Walker black at the casino where Steve was doing his best to give Micks money to the indians.

Thanks for sharing that. This is an awesome story. I'm going to have my Wife read it. She'll love it. So cool.

One of the last true rock stars alive!

Awesome way to take care of your dog. Respect.

Very kewl!

But someone should pass the word on to Mick that next time I'll give his dog its meds and stay in paradise for a month for like $5K. :D

That's so awesome. What a nice vacation and it would seem that it was definitely deserved.

Nice story to share. Always nice to hear something good happening to people who do good things. Did he strum the Martin? I would have.
