I had recently seen a video of a teacher talking about the despairing lack of students ability to remember anything and use even a modicum of critical thinking and then this came along and at least at first watch, it made a bit of sense. In our developmental years tech is not necessarily a benefit to long term cognitive ability.

Literacy is also a problem among students. On the next door app I’ve been seeing articles about children walking out of school to protest ICE, with people in the comments cheering it on.

I guess it doesn’t matter since the kids aren’t learning anything anyways. 🤷‍♀️

Here are some of those kids in Texas earlier today

Yup.

When you don't have to think 'cause a device thinks for you.
This and we also lower standards for them..... So they can pass thinking we are doing them a favor.

Of course sometimes grades are curved but when you start watering down education to use a math problem that isn't as hard for example just so kids could pass we really are selling children short IMO and doing them a disservice.

One of the main reasons I voted for President Trump is because I saw that this is what WokeMerican/Democrats were doing and IMO it was shameless to worry about stupid ass WokeMerican/MeToo BS vs childrens education which IMO is more important.

If I got an education and the rest of us before them got one IMO American children deserve as good or better and if it's below that basic standard then we are failing kids in America pure and simple. American children deserve a quality education and it's not only their right to have one but an obligation of those in American society to provide it for them and this should be something everyone agrees with but to those on the left WokeMerican/MeToo BS is more important :dunno:

Yeah it might appear that way but I'm sure many Democrats would prefer their kids received a great education.

It's only the factions that push for ever-more social brainwashing at school that I feel should be blamed, ultimately, as well as those who allowed the agenda to supplant much of the education most parents assumed their kids were getting.

IMHO

Is this what happened to you, kid?
I could have taken Statistics/Analytics for example and taken the easy way but I set the bar higher for myself and went with Business Calculus. That shit sucked, it was hard, it was insane...... But I'm glad I did and it paid off.

I think the next higher maths would have been Physics and even Physics guys found Calc a bit hard when talking to some, they considered it different but equal or harder in some aspects too. They didn't like it that's for sure as much as they loved Physics too 😂

Some kids were forced to take lower maths in Statistics/Analytics because they couldn't get passed PreCalc or Algebra ll even and if you failed 3 times you weren't allowed to take the course anymore and couldn't move on to Calc eventually so it was important to study and actually earn your education the hard way. It was a lot of pressure because you had to pass and couldn't afford to fail or else you were done.

Flashcards, taking good notes, asking the Professor questions during, before and after class, study groups, spending hours in the Maths Lab/Writing Center, coffee and bagels are ones best friend in that sense there as well as discipline, consistency and repetition and just showing up and doing what you are supposed to do.

Diet Coke helps and goes a long way too *_*

Other fun classes where studying counted was Philosophy and Critical Thinking/Reasoning and flashcards are ones best friend there too.

This was way way before ChatGPT. We used LexisNexis and actual Archives to learn and get a real education *_*

I forgot which I took first but remember I passed both with an A. Philosophy was pretty good and for the final we got grouped with another person by random to debate a topic. I think mine was if God was real or not so I had to prove that God was real and the other person had to prove God wasnt real.... More along the lines of did God create the universe or not and is he real... Forgot exactly but yeah.

It kind of sucked because I'm not the church type of dude or superstitious type but I decided to come at the problem or better put, the question from a strictly objective point of view.

Ultimately I defined God as a force with infinite power. And what can cause the creation of the universe if God didn't exist or a force with infinite power didn't exist?!?!?!

Nature/The Universe shows us as well as the great master Aristotle did that you can't have a cause without an effect.....

The Hubble Telescope shows us and science shows us that the universe is ever expanding infinitely nvm cosmic acceleration or cosmic inflation or multiverse theory either that comes a a result for example. This is observable thanks to redshift as well but was understood even more so thanks to the Hubble Telescope.

Hawkings and Quantum Mechanics also showed us that the universe spontaneously could have and may easily come from "nothing"......

If the universe by nature was caused by an event that allows it to infinitely expand thanks to cosmic acceleration/inflation as is observable and we can also look at signs and cues from the topology of the universe that this is the case that the cause is one thanks to an infinite power......

Given observations of the universe the cause(s) of the universe is/are as a result of an infinite power, the effect(s) of this cause is/are infinite.....

Therefore not only does God/infinite power exist but God/infinite power also created the universe as nature shows given cause and effect...........
I also went into some other conversations about yes cosmic inflation also suggest the end of the universe at some point and even the destruction of space/time itself and essentially back to "nothing"......

But again Hawkings suggest that the universe can spontaneously arise from "nothing"........ And since time doesn't exist outside of spacetime/the universe...... You have an occasion where again the moment one universe ends another begins.... Maybe simultaneously one can say because time as said doesn't exist outside of spacetime/the universe or one after the other or both. Anyways infinite universes or multiverse theory and again what has the power to do such a thing other than God or an infinite power

It also goes hand in hand with cosmic inflation too and what is observable thanks to the Hubble Space Telescope.... Old stuff but amazing.

It sure ain't no James Webb Telescope of course but the Hubble really went places no else could have imagine before and discovered things no one ever thought possible. Anyways that was a good one and yeah I got an A on the final too and the Professor was pretty impressed as well *_*

I've been practicing law for 26+ years. I finished Law School in '99 - when the internet was still a novelty: dial-up connection; AOL (LOL). Only 3-Ls were allowed to use the old boat anchor computers in the law library to look up cases. 1-Ls and 2-Ls read these big heavy cumbersome things in the law library - I 'think' they were called books???

From 2000 forward, there was a steady infiltration of the digi-sphere into every facet of our lives. I and I noticed a steady decline in the ability of each successive graduating law school class to engage in meaningful critical thinking. The latest crop of newly minted attorneys are veritable rummies. Now, they don't even need to understand what the actual legal issue is to conduct research using Lexis or Westlaw - its all AI - and its dead ass WRONG as often as it is right. The only thing scarier than the current crop of law school grads has got to be the new crop of med school grads. (Siri - what's wrong with my patient?) Kill. Me. Now.

As long as the stock market and economy as we know it does not collapse in the next 36 - 48 months, I do see retirement within reach. I have enjoyed the practice of law, it has treated me well. But once I can step away, I won't miss it.

Yeah honestly thanks for coming in.....

I imagine we are going to have some accountants come in too now with the mention of LexisNexis 😂 and well real Archives and real education nvm the fucking library right or actually reading vs skimming or God forbid actually writing flashcards. Some of the digital stuff was great right like Chegg study and shit like that to help manage workload with so much shit you have to learn now but yeah when you start going Wolf Ram Alpha or full ChatGPT to earn an education.....

Youre not really receiving an education and unfortunately..... NVM an underdeveloped frontal cortex and as the old saying goes if you don't use it, you lose it. And another one..... Yeah they don't make them like they used to.

My best friends in college were my accounting/maths books, the Xerox machine, LexisNexis/Archives and my Texas Instruments Ti-84 Plus Calculator along with the Maths Labs/Library......

Nothings better than a good ol' TI-84 Plus *_*

This is true I mean I'm sure most people on average want the best education their kids can get and who would say otherwise but unfortunately WokeMericans have hijacked common sense and education for self serving purposes.

Sacrificing and robbing a quality education American children deserve in exchange for WokEducation :(

And its everywhere. One of my very good friends is a mechanic and ran his own shop. (Now retired - he definitely did better than I did over the years $!$!$) He was a bit older than me and definitely grew up diagnosing and repairing cars long before computers ruled the world. He made his daily bread doing general repairs - but kept one bay open at all times for muscle cars and hot rods. He was one of few guys left in my area who knew how to rebuild both Rochester and Holley carburetors blindfolded. He was amazed at how many relatively new cars would show up in his shop after multiple trips through the dealership (stealership) only to have expensive brand new parts thrown at the car based on what the computer said - and they still did not run correctly. It seems like very few in his field still know how to diagnose an automotive issue based on how the car sounds and feels along with EXPERIENCE and make it RIGHT rather than plug a cable into the OBD port and replace whatever part had the Red 'X' next to it on the computer screen.

My biggest gripe in education with those who have hijacked education amongst them WokeMerican Pink Pussy Hat Socialist/Communist........ And most probably TGP members

Is that if they cared about education and American children receiving the quality education they deserve...... They should stop recruiting Child Soldiers to fight their WAR and stop putting American Children on the Frontline against Law Enforcement Officers.....

That is what they are doing and they are knowingly putting American children in harms way

Isn't a quality education for American children more important than pretty much forcing children to march as Child Soldiers in America or to use children as human shields essentially..... Something that usually happens in Palestine in the Middle East or Somalia Africa........ Its time to call out these atrocities not just in education but in society these WokeMericans promote......

A quality education that American Children deserve is more important than WokEducation...... :dunno:

NVM the Child Soldiers Pink Pussy Hat WokeMericans are promoting to confront Law Enforcement Officers and destroy America again

Fucking feral savages….
So, this is bullshit. The guy is not a teacher as "watson" claimed (all he posts is rw propaganda lies).

The guy is just some random MAGA asshole who attacked a girl because he didn't like the fact that she was protesting. Now the cops are looking for him. Maybe do 5 seconds of research before you believe the bullshit these MAGAts spread.
