Introducing The Axe-Fx™ II.....

what i find vindicating is the upgrades address many of the issues i complained about, so in part denouncing the hardcore axe fanbois who said the ultra was "the ultimate tone answer", and that if i was unable to create the sound i was after, it was me and not the box,
...so maybe they may not totally know it all after all....and maybe the box did have the limitations i heard after all...

well well

it would be one thing with just the new options added on to the existing hardware, but this seems like a thorough overhaul, complete with all new logarithms and routines on how it bases it's modeling.
Sooo, for years people have argued that the AxeFX sounds as good and feels the same as a real tube amp all the while using inferior algorithms.

I've heard the new algorithms make angels jealous.

don barzini already bought and sold the II 3 hours ago,
after crying twice as many tearz.

It would be worth hearing. feel bad for all the guys who recently bought the first. I'm sure they'll trickle this one out as well. So it will keep that mystique. It's cool they addressed a lot of the complaints about the first version. And they beat the new Klon as well.

I agree the USB and the other new features are very nice additions.
Absolutely.
And hopefully the 4CM will work better (less noise) than before.

Well done, FA.

More bulge, more skin, and shorter shorts :D

That's the nature of the computer biz I suppose. I'd be pissed if I just bought the obsolete model, though.

Going to be a very interesting Monday for Axe FX here on RT....where you are still free to express an opinion and throw rocks.

I'll be in the bleacher seats.

It's a whole new ball game now. With the exception of a few, no one owns a II, and as the fan boy convention goes, "if you haven't owned an AxeFX, you have no right to say what it sounds like." So all the people that owned a I no longer has a say.

Well, yes, the new stuff is better, but the nothing was wrong with the old stuff. You see, the new stuff sounds better, even though the old stuff was as real as it gets. It's a matter of the new stuff.....better....old stuff...better....realer...brain....melting....better....better.....better....

I am no Scott Peterson.

I will wait to hear what Mark says, he will give us the undiluted full scoop.
It was bound to happen, its the very nature of computer technology

Fuck Peterson, using his forum as a shill while secretly being a beta tester of the II.

There's no way you can be objective in that type of environment without being severely biased with an agenda. About as useful as reading a commercial...

Wonder if your settings get wiped out with every firmware update like the Ultra?

And more of a next new level.

Sure am glad i never sold off all my amps like some other poor fools.

And for $2200 and more realer, more new ballgame, more next level, Mark will still sound like Mark.

Looks like some good improvements. I'd be interested to hear the new modelling. Although I wonder which amps are modelled. Call me crazy but I'm not interested in spending $2k+ for a model of a plexi reissue.

Another funny one...I wonder what all the guys who claimed that the Eleven Rack's True-Z input was bogus or not needed or whatever will say now that the Axe II has the same thing. It probably just went from "bullshit" to "greatest feature ever".

just like computers now days...5 years ...yours is obsolete..feel sorry for anybody that just dumped $ on a new ultra

The thing has been due for a hardware overhaul for YEARS now!! I mean cmon, really...you guys are surprised that he finally updated the hardware?? Every other modeling company does it every year or 2 so this should have been absolutely no surprise. He has finally adding things that his low end competition has had for YEARS in the USB and Headphone jack...

I mean he warned there was a big announcement coming quite a while ago....so if you bought one since that warning order you only have yourself to blame...

Great that they finally have a new model though...cant wait to see how it all works out.

I ought to take a flame thrower to this place.

I could a rat's ass and Mike is right, I would paying $2200 to bang my head against a wall to get my marshall tone and effects just right when I already have that shit sitting in my lap.
