Sad. Even though the guitars and amps were/are WAY too expensive for me.

Reminds me of in Wall Street (the movie), when they say they are going to make Blue Star Airlines bigger and better - but have a meeting discussing dissolving the company and selling the assets.

My guess is they'll start out sourcing to China & make as much money as possible on the Suhr brand name & then sell it off at a later date when the name has been soiled ala Parker & Buddha.

I love when people throw politics into this type of discussion...but anyway. I love Suhr guitars and own 2, and a CAA amp. Its actually quite impressive how he has grown his business over the years since I bought my first Suhr guitar - so good for him, he deserves it. At first I was kinda bummed about this (cause we are all aware of what will probably happen with the quality/brand) but there are just way too many great guitar and amp builders these days for this to even matter.

John Suhr will stand behind his stuff, I'm gonna order 6-7 more

Couldn't agree more and I've owned at least 20 Suhr guitars and 4 amps so far. Chicken Little: Relax.

I was able to go to one of the NAMM parties. What an absolutely badass shop Suhr has. Looked like 11M in tools alone.

Why would anything be any different. It's all Cnc stuff....put in a piece of wood and press play....I'm sure they plek the fretwork....again just press play.

Yeah, I'm sure it will be exactly, if not better than before.

Back from the dead - Update from his FaceBook:

"To all my friends....in case anyone has been concerned about any changes in regards to ownership and buy out offers for the company.

We have chosen to pursue a more organic growth path. Suhr guitars will continue to provide the product and customer service we have become known for. I'm still in complete control and also now have my son Kevin by my side. He continues to amaze me every day with the new product he is developing, his college and EE education is now backed by 2 years of hands on.

Talk is cheap so over the next year I will prove that we are listening by our actions and product. This will truly be an exciting year for the company and our customers. No going public, no buyouts. Just a company full of amazing employees who make us who we are. I have never been happier than today in 25 years."
