Suhr had already gotten too big and QC was slipping.

Well for those that already own a Suhr it is probably great. Why? Look how much a pre factory PRS sells for
I think it will be even a bigger difference. When PRS built the factory he didn't sell out his position to an unrelated corporation. Paul was still heavily involved in building/training builders and quality control for a long, long time. He was still relatively young when he made that transition. The moment JS loses control of the company, I expect this to be a pretty fast spiral downward.

Suhr makes nice guitars but I'm not a fanboy. Based off my own experience every Suhr I bought from 2005-2012 were great. The couple I got from then to now had mistakes on the orders, garbage looking wood. I do not mean to bash them either. I'd still buy Suhrs. I just think it's a little hit and miss now where it used to be a sure thing. They make A LOT more guitars now than pre 2008.

Remember he makes more than guitars with all his pedals and amps.

On at least two occasions when Suhr was increasing their list prices, I can recall John directly mentioning the challenges of managing the costs of doing business in CA. Yes, and the leftwing morons raising state and local taxes at every opportunity affects the cost of doing business. Sales tax in many CA cities is as high as 10%. Also the democrats just significantly raised the gasoline tax in CA which already had the highest gas tax in the country. These burdensome tax increases obviously affect transportation/supply/material costs. All these policies add pressure to small business owners. Contrary to leftwing beliefs, the government cannot continually rape small business owners and expect prosperity. According to Hillary Clinton, it's time for CEO's to pay up. John Suhr was the CEO at Suhr Guitars and look at the jobs and great products he brought to the market.

Folks, idiot liberalism just cost us Suhr Guitars. It's going to cost us a lot more if Hillary gets elected.

Imagine the ridiculous cost and pressure of doing business in radical, leftwing CA.

That's an odd phrasing. California is expensive real estate due to the weather and general desirability, but somehow the pressure of doing business in CA is related to political leaning? If so, Lake Elsinore CA, where Suhr is, should be an extremely easy and pressure-free place to do business, since it's Republican. In fact, I believe all of Riverside County (where Lake Elsinore is) has something like 85% Republicans, so the entire business ecosystem there should be pressure free, thanks to the lack of radical left-wingers.

Uh huh. Raving Radical Republican I take it?? Yup blame everything on the Democrats. Just like blaming everything on that IDIOT Bush. Didn't like Bush but I know he wasn't responsible for the economy crashing. I have an idea...let's tax the rich less...and they will hire MORE PEOPLE!!!!!! Not.....EVER.

Lmao...you guys should be more worried about when the robots take over your jobs. This is peanuts...

Why didn't John build the factory outside of CA to reduce costs? He was well aware of CA laws.

Having the factory there is very convenient when you're importing things. Oh, shit, did I just say that,.............

I too had issues once they moved to their current, larger facility.

Well maybey if he would have kept up with the wrecking crew and offered "cup holders" he would not be in this position...just saying..

THis is all fine and dandy with the soft approach and it is lovely to hear John so positive about it. At some point, they are going to want more profit and that will trigger changes in manufacturing costs.

Either way, beautiful guitars.

I was going to wait until next year to buy my 4th Suhr, but it looks like I'm speeding it up to this summer.

The poor fret jobs on Gibson Les Pauls is obviously a Republican ploy to demoralize the youth of America.
