ISP Decimator G-String pedal causing ground loop?

hi everyone,
So I am rebuilding my rig and included my ISP Decimator G-string pedal on the pedal board. I tested some things today and noticed the G-string pedal causing a ground loop. I isolated EVERYTHING and connected guitar into the ISP and Amp's loop into the ISP and the ground loop is still there.

Tried different pedals to make sure its not the cables (cables are brand new Mogami with Neutrik ends) and no buzz or group loop sound.

Thoughts?

Thanks

Just because it only happens with the pedal doesn't mean it's the pedal, it's more a matter of having a pedal with 2-3 connections to the same amp, with grounds in one or the other that perhaps aren't isolated. I think I'm saying that right.

Can you solder a cable? Create a patch cable that doesn't have the ground connected on one end. First try it for your DEC In cable, then try it for your DEC Out cable. You might have to flip the cable end see whether it works better with the unground ended in the amp, or in the pedal.

You can also Google for how to create a ground lift cable, and I'm guessing there are places you can buy them too if you don't want to make your own. Most likely this will take care of it, you just have to be methodical to determine where it is going to do the most good.
Hi there,
thanks for the reply. I did create 2 short patch cables that connect to the DEC IN and DEC OUT. Neither had the sheild connected as this was what ISP tech support recommended. It just made things worse unfortunetly.

Cheers

Ok I have this problem with my amp and the four cable gates including zuul. For me the solution was a small isolation transformer. Cutting grounds just didn’t solve it and caused other issues.

In my case I could use a cheap $10 nte-1 because the key is not in the signal chain. Either way, iso transformer will sort this. In the signal chain id use a jensen or lehle.

Hey thanks for the info. where do you place the ISO transformer?

Thanks

ok So I got an ISO box and it didnt help. I narrowed it down to being an issue with my Splawn Nitro's effects loop.

I contacted Splawn for support and they're helping me out :-).

Thanks
