That's based on the premise that if you've heard one blues song, you've heard them all.

And it's pretty much true. I'll give you that SRV was tremendous and took the genre about as far as it could go, but beyond that, it's pretty much jamming and noodling.

Let's face it. You can pretty much play any blues song on your stereo (that's like an ipod for you younger shredders) and jam along with it immediately. If that's a feature of the music, then the music isn't very advanced, ergo, it's no good.

No, I'll take my Allan Holdsworth, thank you very much.

I could see how if you've only heard one blues song in your life, it's easy to think all blues sounds the same.

When I coincidentally start a long slow burp at the same time the 'vocals' start for some of this new stuff, and my kid looks surprised until he realizes I'm just belching and says 'Oh, I thought you were singing along at first,' I think that says something, too. True story.

The really sad part about the OP's retarded statement is that he automatically assumes that SRV is "blues".
Yes, SRV was a blues(Texas Style) influenced player, but that style of music is not even close to blues.
It is what retards like yourself have come to know as the blues due to the ignorance of people like yourself.
Do a little research prior to posting.

"Mr. Madison, what you've just said... is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul."

Go check out Freddie King then come back and we'll have a discussion about blues.

And it only took him a week and a half as a member to achieve this. Gentleman, we have a new record holder.

I've read one retarded thread: I get it.

That's based on the premise that if you've read one retarded thread made by a n00b, you've read them all.

I pity thy soul

Well "jam(ming) along" is very different from emulating the soul and emotion that is the blues.

Reminds me of the modeling amps vs real amps. Sure you can get a "jamming along" type tone, but it does not reflect the soul and emotion of a real amp. ;)

Worst Socratic argument I've ever heard.

As much as one song represents the blues, Queen represents all rock, or Slayer represents all Metal, or Fall out Boys represent all douche bags....

Great troll though.

ummm...I give you this masterpiece of vibe and soul for your blues consideration.

Then I give you this masterpiece of modern electric blues, not so much anything alike but both revered blues tracks.
