SFW I agree totally!!! It sounds like there may be more songs coming from Stephen Chesney and Mason. Personally I'd love to see Robert go that route. I'm sure the RDC gig would be a good one, but I can't get enough of the chesney/mason ep.

That would be cool..saw Warrant with Mason 2 years ago, he sounded great. But no one can replace Gillen...shouldnt be that expectation anyway. Ray was really one of a kind...

Paul Shortino from Rough Cutt...he's professional, presumably available, they already know each other (Jake was in Rough Cutt before Dio and Ozzy), and he's got cool voice and can sing in key... he should just do it already.

I don't think Paul could do justice to the Ray Gillen style.

I don't think ANYONE could do Ray justice...but Shortino still gets my vote.

I get all the ray comments but for me its not that big of a deal doing "justice" to rays stuff. Given I will never see them live and that I don't really watch you tube video's, I don't really care how "close" things are live.......I just want a new record that has its own newish thing going on (like the first one but with a bit more of a band feel to it)

Whatever Jake does, there are going to be some Badlands and Ozzy covers in there. Do you have any clips of Paul Shortino doing vocals in either of those styles?

No I don't...but he's got a bluesy voice and was in Rough Cutt and Quiet Riot (for a minute), and I think he could pull it off. The guy who's clip you posted hit all the right notes and is a really good singer, but he's no Ray Gillen (nobody is)...at least Shortino is a "name"...it's another draw for Jake I think instead of some no name guy...that's all I meant.

Oni is a great singer, but live he really tones it down big time. I'm a Lynch fanboy and I like ONI a lot, but IMO he's not what I expected when hearing I'm on cd(a lot aren't, not meant as a knock). Not sure that would be a good gig for him. Just my opinion
