Hey does anyone have any experance with this amp? Thoughts? Opinions?

One trick pony, but it can be had at a fair price. Not only for Slayer fanboys, and it does metal really well imho. Besides the hot rodded jcm 800 with a modern edge, there is also the stock jcm 800 circuit to play around with pedals and stuff. It also has a very good noisegate. I have one and I cant say anything bad about it. As with all amps, try before you buy. This 100w beast may not be for everyone.

Thanks for the info!

always wondered how the jcm 800KK is cheaper than the 2203x is the 800KK has more features? As far as i know they are both made in England.

Mailman will probably chime in here - he had one for a while and loved it from what I recall.

i love mine. both with the beast on doing the heavy thing, and with it off boosted with an overdrive for the '80's thing.

I've owned 2 of them, and still have my original.
They are great sounding amps. I love the built in noise gate.
I wish every amp would have one, and a reason why I am looking forward to the upcoming Armageddon's with their built in ISP soon.

I found the regular JCM800 side a bit twangy, and the Beast side a bit compressed with too much gain. But I run most amps with less gain, so I would always run the preamp around 1-2oclock, and then the assault (beast) around 9am. This gives a very tight and heavy tone. higher than that is crazy gain. Very deep and thick amp with lots of volume and punch.
I first tested it against my Mesa Stiletto II Deuce, in the shop, and thought the Stiletto would wipe the floor with the KK....but I was wrong. Very wrong, and got rid of the Stiletto very shortly afterwards.

They are good amps, IF you don't need much.
When I play that amp, my path is Guitar, cord, amp. nothing else.

I was playing the KK at THIS show...

It sounds awesome when modded ;)

What kinds of mods can be done to the KK?

and who?

Even before mods, it sounds pretty damn good.

I love the noise gate. It works perfectly and is better than most of the high priced floor and rack units currently on the market.

Cheers,
Mike
