Looks like you've made your mind up but my .311 cents likes what Dan and RaceU were saying about something wildly different. A Recto and Marshall (ish) amp are great together. There is a Single Rec in the classifieds right now for $1,000. :dunno: And I've never played a Butterslax but it was my understanding they were fairly one trick pony, while the EVH is pretty flexible IMO. Different Strokes and good luck my man.

Thank you! You all have put Mesa back on my radar. I had a Tremoverb once and sold it thinking I preferred Orange, then I had a Mark IV that started smoking and has now sat at a tech's shop for oh, maybe, 6 years now? Kind of have given up on it.

I have a Vox, Fender and Supro and like them for country/rock things. A recto is a good recommendation! I found the 100 Deluxe I'm after. I'm thinking I'll end up selling the Slax most likely. I think channel one cranked full gain is immaculate and channel 2 is thrash heaven, but I would be surprised if the DLX can't get close. Dave says it definitely can. More value and not as different from the BE. A Recto would fit in a good spot since I have nothing like it at all.

Actually, with that in mind, what version of the Rectifier is the one to go for nowadays? I see the new 90's one, worth it? Badlander? What's the bang for the buck choice and, second, what's the best, but not-extreme priced one to go for?

Badlander is sorta a cross up of a modded 2203 and recto.

The reissue is fairly costly, the Badlander can be had for less.

Try em if possible, see if they scratch that itch.

I watched a little about the Badlander, sounded freaking awesome. I think that or a IIC+ RI would be really up my alley. I feel like the 90s RI might be just a massive sized overkill for me. The BL size is pretty nice to go along with that sound. Any downsides to it or the IIC+ RI?
