Saw this on the Rig Talk login page under news... the sound clips are a bit messy but the price points are very good for people looking for the traditional and modded MArshall tone. I can see with proper mic'ing I could use that tone. Too bad I already have the Marshall thing covered in just about everything I own. But yes, "handwired" in China! ;)

That showed up on my FB feed yesterday. I was not impressed by the high gain clips.

I'm interested in this, have you played a jet city? For the price they absolutely rip imo, good soldano tone. So based on that only   I'm thinking once someone gets one of these jet city marshalls we will see some good clips.

I have not played one. I don't know what site that clip was on, just showed up as an ad on my FB feed. I'm sure it's easy to find. Sounded like a beehive to me, though the low gain tones sounded ok. For $800 it's probably a steal, but I wasn't dying for a JTM 45 circuit anyway. I saw a band last weekend where the rhythm guitarist was using a real Marshall JTM 45 and it sounded pretty good.

No I'm not interested in a JTM45 either really especially at that price but for a used one hot-rodded I'd be tempted
Also that high gain on that link kapo put up is horrid!

Clips clips clips...I've heard some great ones..and terrible ones. Using the same amp lol...so hard to judge until you play one yourself. I've played a Jet city 50, with a boost pretty nice. No SLO of course, but for 400 bucks? Sure!

Usually manufactures will spin some sort of BS about being influenced by a classic British design or something. They come right out and call it a clone.

Yeah the clips are terrible but again, you can tell it was recorded by someone who doesn't really know what they are doing with either the mic or preamp gain. I am pretty sure it will sound like a JTM45. Hell a Bugera sounds close enough with the 1960.Circuit is a circuit is a circuit. You can argue mojo all you want where Mustards are concerned and the Transformer prob makes the greatest difference but most engineers and a good player will make an amp sound good.
