BE100's aren't exactly what I would call affordable even for a member of Whitesnake. I offered to let him take my BE100 on the road and he is most likely going to do that.

So what happens if it get damaged or worse. Insurance I guess?

Keep your amp. He will get some from us. We have been talking with him about it.

Joel is without question every bit as good as Doug Aldrich, or ANYBODY else out there for that matter. Check out his solo CD's for further evidence. There is nothing that he can't play. He's been a close friend of mine since high school ('87), and he as an absolutely amazing all around musician and all around super cool cat.

I thought his playing was great. Very clean. I heard every note. Because the amp sounded great and he played great.

I never heard of him before the Night Ranger gig. Didnt he do a "rock of ages" vegas thing too?

I love old whitesnake. Not really big on the "commercial" rock genre and only interested in newer WS cuz of Doug. I have no interest in the WS deep purple cd.

But hey, best of luck to Joel and WS.

I also only got into the newer WS because of Aldrich. I was surprised to hear Coverdale sound passable in the studio, based on some terrible live clips I'd seen. Doug Aldrich brought an updated guitar tone, which I like. From a playing standpoint I'm sure Joel Hoekstra(spelling?) will have no trouble playing whatever's needed, it remains to be seen if his tone will be as great as Doug's.

The semi clean Strat stuff he did was over the top .Toneful, fluid playing.
That one passage he did had real piano tone.

I liked his playing on TMS, he played some nice chords not normally played on the show. rockinchippy, how did you meet him and how did the amp thing come about?

Joel also did the Trans Siberian Orchestra

Really dig Aldrich's tone and playing but does the dude ever use his pinky?

This was a really good recent interview with Joel. Lengthy, but was cool to listen to when driving to work.

I caught Joel with the trans-Iberian orchestra couple years ago. I have to say that his tone was amazing and he was a monster of a player. Actually I think is Lee tone is the best I've ever heard live out of any guitar player at any show that I've been to

watched him closely on that TSO tour and his skill and phrasing are very good. Very talented.

Not sure why he even needs to borrow an amp.. the guy would probably rip on a metalzone pedal through a boombox and sounds great.

One of the best if not the best guitarist I've ever seen on that show. Best tones too. Very cool stuff IMO. Didn't even know who he was but had heard the name before.

Yes, do that, they're phenomenal. He's got Virgil Donati and Rick Fierabracci for a rythym section on them. Not too shabby. He's an extremely versatile player, and he definitely displays that on his albums.
