I hate John Mayer and I did't write this but, any one that would celebrate his life/death... sucks! IMHO. Please read...

OK, I'm sorry, but somebody has to say it. I am already very tired of the headlines concerning how "the world is morning the loss of Michael Jackson." Even the Pope made a statement about the great loss to humanity . . .
Folks, we have young men and women giving up their lives for our country and the freedom of others every day. There are young people in Iran who are probably going to be beheaded because they support free elections.

There are thousands of children and girls kidnapped every day for the sex trade in Africa and the Far East. And yes, there ARE starving children in Africa . . . STILL! Michael jackson is not a humanitarian. He has squandered millions on his own lavish pleasures. He is not a spiritual man. He was a odd little man who (may or may not have) fondled little boys. Quit anointing him to Sainthood.

I have friends who died in the jungles of Viet Nam 35 years ago and their memory and their sacrifice are STILL more important to me than a dance video. "Thriller" did not change my life. The loss of brave hero friends changed my life.

You want to mourn something? - Then mourn the homeless, mourn the abused children, mourn the abused women, mourn with the family of a fallen soldier, mourn for the veteran who served his or her country and now spends dreary days in dilapidated hospitals.

If you want to celebrate lives . . than celebrate the teacher who taught you to read, celebrate the coach who showed you how to kick a soccer ball, celebrate the clergy who stand with you in times of sorrow, celebrate the lives of those who hold you in their hearts daily . . . Celebrate your friends, your children, your parents, your siblings.

"Nuff said...... I'll get down off of my soapbox...

Fuck MJ and JM :(

Hilarious post. Hilariously stupid.

The hatred for Mayer is so strong too. I hardly think he's the second coming or anything but the hate kinda baffles me. And I know somebody will bring up whatever it was to do with Kage but a lot of musicians are dicks and it doesn't affect most opinions on their music.

Seriously, it's the way he's always been man. I know I'm a Mayer fanboy, but still. He's VERY sarcastic and has a very dark humor, specially since he likes to mock on the hollywood/rockstar lifestyle, so his jokes sometimes are like that (acting the rockstar douche way) but I don't find him douchie at all.

but, the hate will go on, don't loose sleep over it

I think it was great, the ceremony was very tasty and not "show-like" at all IMO

Mayer's performance was great, very classy and even though I like his singing, he knows it's not his strong forte.

Check this out

If you can watch that Larry King/Mayer interview, and STILL hate on the guy, then there's zero hope of ever changing your mind on him.

I imagine it's not hard for someone to put their douchbaggyness aside for 10 minutes to go Larry King.

Wow, lots of tough guy talk about the untimely death of a star and a talented white guy who plays the guitar.
Negative and aggressive outlooks about people that you only know through the media is pretty pathetic. Maybe you just realized that you will not be buried in a gold casket and will most likely have only have 30-40 people show up at your funeral instead of tens of thousands.

Bottom line, MJ's passing is the biggest celebrity death since Elvis.
If you can't see or accept that then oh well. Just stew in your anger and trash talk strangers. If you're sick of hearing and reading about it, then turn off your TV and put down the newspaper.

"but he was a pedophile!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

*ahem*.

EDIT:

I suspect I'll be shot down for this but some of you do realise Michael Jackson was never convicted of anything? Just sayin'.

I thought Princess Diana's death recieved a lot more press coverage and she was probably known by more people in the world.

Quick somebody cue the "Neither was OJ argument" !!!!

For the record, I thought the tone and playing as average.

Princess Diana? True, her death was very big and largely publicized. Maybe I shouldn't have used the word celebrity but entertainer instead. Celebrity can be a broad statement nowadays.
Although I disagree that Diana was more well known around the world than MJ.

Pedophile??? I can't say because I wasn't there. (logic we should all use IMO) But, in the "Land of The Free" where the Democratic process thrives I would hope and expect that the people of this nation would respect and honor the fact that as mentioned, MJ was never convicted of any crimes against children. He may have settled out of court, but $20 million and one year is a lot better then $400 million and 10 years of court battles. Read between the lines or quote any statements he may have said that implicated otherwise, but defamatory comments about a dead musical icon will only go so far for so long.

Haven't watched a second of it on TV. I guess I just really don't give a shit about MJ. Sorry for quoting something I found to be truth. You can all put your blinders on and go back to your TVs now.

So you've reviewed the case and court docs and validated that all the terrible things reported by the press were substantiated? I'm sincerely interested in knowing the depth of your validation of the facts, outside of what you heard via the news media.

If you haven't done your own discovery, then perhaps you're the one that can go back to the T.V.

Dont you guys think that the ceramony, while tasteful, was kinda creepy at the same time?

Doesn't matter, what did you think of the playing and tone?
eh?...anyway, thought the intro was pretty cool

Like it was said before, he was never convicted of anything, and some people claim that the fact he settled out of court for 20mm is a sign he actually committed the crimes, but seriously if you're worth close to a billion dollars (which in the documentary "Living with Michael Jackson" he was asked: "how much do you think you're worth?" check this video and you'll see the answer around 1:45

With all that money 20MM is just NOTHING.....

OJ wasn't convicted of murder so let's stop putting all our faith in the American justice system. And MJ is leaving behind 400 million in debt. He kept borrowing money and failed to pay anything back because he spent more than he made.

it's well known he had 400 MM in debt but he still had plenty left. There was NO WAY michael Jackson was failing for bankruptcy

fine man, everyone has his/her opinon, people see/believe what they want to believe

I believe he's worth a billion, so net worth is 600.

And it's people just like you who let MJ get away with all the shit he did. He blew some of his hard earned money paying off the victim's families. Fact. Now why why why would he do that if he was completely innocent? I certainly wouldn't pay a cent to anyone if I had nothing to hide. Just because he wasn't found guilty in court does not mean jack shit.

It's not so much that I can't stand MJ. He was a great performer and I enjoyed some of his music. I'm just sick of people like you.

Just keep on wallowing in your ignorance and being a tool of society.

Corporations and individuals blow money every day to shut up people that are doing nothing more than extorting money from them. They end up with a lot less dirt on them, despite the fact that they did no wrong, and it ends up being less expensive in the end.

This is simple stuff man, you really don't understand how this works?

Just keep on wallowing in your ignorance and being a tool of society.

He couldn't afford to keep Neverland....Try another excuse. MJ was a pathological liar. He could not even admit to having cosmetic surgery. And yes, paying 20 mil to people to drop a lawsuit implies guilt, or at least something to hide. Amazing how so many people have zero common sense.

No doubt. Add to that critical reasoning skills in general.
