John Sykes New Album Delayed AGAIN!!!

Man, it looks like this will never get released . Below is what I cut and pasted from his latest updates on his web page. It's been complete what about 4 years now or ??? I would be thrilled to pick it up but sadly I am starting to think ....When it's ever gonna happen...

Dear John Sykes fans. We regret to announce that our partnership with Golden Robot Records has ceased.

Unfortunately after the signing, contractual agreements were unfulfilled by Golden Robot Records and there was little attempt to move things forward despite our best efforts and patience. When written contracts revert to unfulfilled verbal promises all integrity in a company becomes lost. We simply cannot work this way.

We want the fans to understand that we are fully aware of the frustration this will cause. We now feel that the best course of action is to release the album under our own control.

Come to think of it why not use Frontier Records as they seem to be a great option. Wonder if anyone approached John about that?

There's no way Frontiers hasn't approached Sykes at this point. I get the feeling he's going thru the motions now and again but deep down isn't interested in actually releasing anything or having anything to do with the music business.

he should just become like lynch, join a billion different bands, make a million different records and get on with his life. If you're waiting for that album, you're going to be waiting a lifetime. Then again, Chinese Democracy did EVENTUALLY come out.

Yeah - I know this is frustrating and dissapointing for Sykes fans, but it nowhere equals the maddening state of affairs with Jimmy Page. He has been talking about new music and "being seen playing" on stage for like, 20 years now. Sad.

Perhaps he is disillusioned with the music business as many older artists are nowadays. Touring used to be to support album sales, now touring is the only revenue stream. Five minutes after an album is released someone has an illegal copy on a Russian server where you can download it for free. Any percentage of zero is still zero right?

It is not like he can go on a casino tour as many 80s guys have, he is not known outside of the very small guitar community.

I wonder if he retains the rights to the music or if the record label has them. In these times you barely need a record label, especially wit a big name like Sykes. Godgrinder's right, he should just release it on bandcamp, distrokid or youtube.

Sykes is used to having his music produced and probably used to getting to recorded and put out music where he gets a good bit of the royalties if it sells, those days dont exist anymore at all so maybe hes waiting for the leprechaun producer to emerge with gold trinkets. Sucks what's happened to music and sales from recordings.

I still buy cd's and even Vinyl and I have a serious music listening room ! I will check out YouTube for new music and if it's something I dig then I buy it as well . I guess I am a dying breed...

Besides most downloads sound like crap ... Sometimes after a long day I prefer to kick back in my music room , have a Bourbon or two., and crank the music fucking LOUD!!!!

Definitely not a common household!! Sucks , I dig it, wish it would resurface , I am sure there are tons of people still doing this. As far as by the masses its gone
