John Suhr,
Steve,
The amp you built sounds superb to my ears. Very soon, I am going
to be giving you a ring if you are still going to build them.

Gary
Cool Gary! I'm working on the first production run right now...

Steve

where are your superb clips? I would like to hear them, all I heard was a bit at the lugo festival with someone frantically turning dials, are there more?
Click on the link in my sig and there is a demo of the three modes of the amp. Recorded at low volume with an Edirol R-09HR using the built in stereo mics. Not studio quality, but you'll get the point... Some men think these little clips sound good...

Steve

thanks, downloaded, will edit later ;)
I'm frantically trying think of what I said... :scared:

I'm still waiting for medical science to bring us the "fingers mod"

I guess if "tone" were in the fingers, EVH would NOT have used "that one head" exclusively on all the early albums - till it "somewhat" died in the 1984 era... (to be brought back briefly in the Balance cd)

Now... "Technique" - that's a completely different issue.

Thanks John! i have seen the light. all i can do now is what i have been doing. producing great sounding amps for the people that want it from me. i can no longer try to answer questions for people that don't want the answer. i get it. once you make a mistake there are some that will never let that go no matter what you do. and there some that want to poke holes in everything you do. it goes with the territory. the sound i'm producing is what some people are after. some will want to build it and some will want to do what i'm doing with it make a living and some will realize i'm here to help them achieve their tone. thats what i do and there is nothing i can do about the bs. i accept that.
thank you very much!
Mark

Mark,

once you've achieved a certain level of accomplishment, you'll find that flattery will be paid upon you in many forms, plagiarism; speculation; disrespect; etc. Make your way over to the Diezel forum sometime and you'll find where goofballs have came calling out Peter himself!

The internet is a strange beast, finding the best of folks to the macabre and beyond. Keep up the great work.

Played an EVH mod Jose, 50 watter and documented by the owner who watched Jose put the mod in which is really nothing but a couple of filtering componets. IMO what made this amp awesome was the fact it was good before the mod and the small changes made it awesome. The guy also has a 100 watter but it was not there.

SO as several stated they are out there, just that most of those guys are not on the forums.

I don't know the whole story here. But, amp circuits and modifications aren't patentable. So, it is free game. Shit, look at the JTM 45 from Marshall. It was a Bassman flipped tubes up with UK components and a few changes. If you read Jim Marshall's biography, he even admits that when Pete Townsend popped into the shop to urge Jim to build an amp instead of peddling Selmer's, they thought why reinvent the wheel? So, they took the Bassman and reworked it for more distorted tone and out came the 45 with a different tube package.

I don't know Mark, but, if I wanted the tone produced by his amp, I wouldn't even think twice about what may or may not be copied or taken out of context. It doesn't look like he has stepped on anyone's toes, knocked anyone out of business or anything of that nature. Good luck to him.

My 2 cents.........Steve

Right on. Most of the new Diezel fanboy crowd couldn't point out a power tube from inner tube and really have no business owning or commenting on a Diezel. Peter makes a great product and stands behind his work, yet those wet behind the ears come on and complain about their amp in public, showing what ignorant asses they really are - instead of just contacting Peter, privately to sort out their problems.

there is always the Dumble "mod" black goop poured over the components, hardened to steel-like proportions...a real show stopper for the plagiarizers.
