Guys who has Original Jose Modded marshalls let see them, post some photos,if there are any,Thanks....

I'm actually cleaning up Peter Framptons right now.
Sorry I cant publish gut pictures though. Not my call.

I will tell you guys that there is a similarity between Humble and Jose.
I have see and worked on probably 15 Jose Marshalls and owned one myself back in the mid 80's
Never have I seen 2 that were exactly alike.

Mark.... if you want to get into this business you are going to have to live with cloners too.
Take it from an old man.
I know how you feel, there are even PCB and layouts for the Suhr Riot, they are not accurate but close enough for some. Yes I do feel these people might get the wrong idea when listening to the clones. That is their loss.
There is a website dedicated to making SLO Clones. You think Mike is happy about that? You can even buy a chassis just like his.

When you first got involved in modding amps many people might have helped you cause they might not have known you were going to get in to business but were on a personal search. That is their/our choice when we share, but honestly if years ago you had said I want to ask some questions and I want to start modding amps for buisiness reasons you might have received more of a cold shoulder.
That is OK though since the people who share also accept that risk and are all big boys.
You know I'm sure that I have absolutely no grudge in answering any questions to you even still.
I do believe that you could make many amps sound like Ed cause you are one of the rare people who have the right touch

When you receive help from people who have been down that path before you, the same thing happens in a public build forums.
Those forums are for guys who like to build for a hobby not for a business.
A business requires a new completely different skill set than only the talent of having ears, playing and modding Marshall's.
When you are in those forums and switch gears to turning it in to a business those guys wont take kindly towards it. You are cutting them off from a resource as they love your playing and might feel like you have found some secrets you no longer want to share in the spirit of the forum.
The best answer is not to get involved in the first place if these were your intentions.
You might be helping an underling while someone who knows more than you is helping you but that guy helping you doesn't care if you are helping someone else and would probably prefer you didn't share what he told you.

I guess what I'm saying is it is all part of business. You have crossed the line from a hobbyist to someone trying to turn this in to a business. It is a different world and what you are experiencing is normal everyday shit. I see schematics of my stuff all over the place. I even went to one forum and helped them to understand my methods since I cant stop them anyway. There are some big companies using some of my layouts and designs but .... that's life. It only drives me to come up with new product and ideas they haven't seen yet.
If you want stuff to stay private and don't want people to find out your tweaks you would have to never do the tweaks for anyone else..... ever.
I wish you the best but welcome to my world.

I've said it before and I'll say it again....John, you're a class act guy. ;)

No argument really.. i think Rockstah may be a bit ticked that I told the folks here that they can see how to implement the very Rockstah mod (or close enough to it) on the metro amp forum and thus might take away from potential business he could get from posting here and having people tell him how great his mod and amps are. He does great work and by all means, if you have the cash and it is convenient, go ahead and give him the business because he will tweak it to perfection. If you want the real deal, go to the man himself. I would never post any of the mods the guys at metro shared with me over the years but in this case, somebody has and now it sits there for all to see so no harm in telling the good folks at rig-talk to go have a look and see if it suits their needs.
If that is the case it's public knowledge already so what's the problem?

+1

A 2203 front end, 12000 spec plexi filtering, with a PPIMV has been done for decades. Maybe my reading comprehension is bad, but the contradiction I don't understand is: On one hand there's anger over a mod being exposed, but later he states that he shared his mod openly in threads when he helped people. Sounds like he made it public knowledge himself. The schematic looks exact to the signed pics I've seen.

I though this thread was about Jose.

Thanks John! i have seen the light. all i can do now is what i have been doing. producing great sounding amps for the people that want it from me. i can no longer try to answer questions for people that don't want the answer. i get it. once you make a mistake there are some that will never let that go no matter what you do. and there some that want to poke holes in everything you do. it goes with the territory. the sound i'm producing is what some people are after. some will want to build it and some will want to do what i'm doing with it make a living and some will realize i'm here to help them achieve their tone. thats what i do and there is nothing i can do about the bs. i accept that.
thank you very much!
Mark

Now that picture was just wrong.

Now as far as a chassis shot of some Jose work...Is that a no no here? I would love to see it, but I can understand if you don't.
I'll have to just draw a layout from the schematic I saw, or search for a layout if there is one. I'm not looking to start an amp business. I have a good job. This is just for fun,
but I know your competition probably would mine info from a thread that had pics like that. In the end, I expect I would have to tweak to taste,
so it would probably be a few values off of the schematic anyways.

Just go over to the metro forum under the EVH section and see a layout of the Jose MV. That is the starting point. Plenty of suggestions in that thread as well on what values you might want to change.

Dude - just find my thread here. Complete schems and layouts as well as detailed build pics for one Jose variant (the one in the schem that is floating around that you probably saw) with quite a few more options. Sounds killer to me...

I'm still waiting for medical science to bring us the "fingers mod"

John Suhr,
That was perfectly stated. Thank you, you ARE a class act all the way.

Steve,
The amp you built sounds superb to my ears. Very soon, I am going
to be giving you a ring if you are still going to build them.

where are your superb clips? I would like to hear them, all I heard was a bit at the lugo festival with someone frantically turning dials, are there more?
Click on the link in my sig and there is a demo of the three modes of the amp. Recorded at low volume with an Edirol R-09HR using the built in stereo mics. Not studio quality, but you'll get the point... Some men think these little clips sound good...
