just caused an unintentional stir on TGP

Thanks for all the posts people. I hope that if anyone truly dislike the YT clip in my sig they can at least PM me if posting on this thread is a little intimidating.

I appreciate the kind words on our music. It's definitely a prog-ish niche of rock so I'm not expecting a large % of people to like it lol!

Oh and leave it to Rob to slap a big photo of something Canadian in a thread in a shallow attempt at bringing attention to his country

I guess Bubbastain isnt a member over there considering they would probably ban him since even people here cry about his avatar

Agreed, but hey what happened to this:
"This is officially the last word between you and me here".
I knew you’re just kidding but I’m curious if you showed your son my post regarding his future? I'll tell ya what, if it weren't for some people questioning everything we'd still be stuck in the dark ages. If he lived up here I'd give him all my text books after I'm finished. But really, whatever he is into support him 110%. My father tried to put limits on me, wanted me to join the army like most of my family. All that did was turn me against anything that resembled authority. Even today I hate going with the flow and stand up against any law or policy that just ain't right. And there is so many things not right about the western world these days, I should be busy for a lifetime or two.

Take good care of you and yours,
Rob

That's the internet for ya... easy to misunderstand someone's intentions. I was just pulling your chain in that particular thread. Basically daring you to not argue back in that thread. Not swearing off all future communication with you. :D

And yeah... my son is VERY strong-willed and I stopped trying to do much more than BARELY guide the kid years ago. He's bound and determined to do things his [HARD] way. So who am I to deprive him of the life experience? I'm not one of these new-age, baby-boomer hippy parents who believes in never letting my kids suffer the pain (LEARNING EXPERIENCES!!!) of their mistakes. The sooner they learn, the better-off they'll be as adults.

He's just a stubborn prick sometimes and won't listen to anything. But one way or the other... he'll learn. ;)

Oh I did know you were kidding, some people look for the odd ;) or :D , ya know, LOL.
My kids are old enough for kids themselves, but I don't post if they were successful, that maybe would make me sound dated.

As long as your son is working within the law, everything else is just gravy.

Rock on,
Rob

He's [mostly] doing okay. Just VERY stubborn and just the usual dumbass teenager crap like finding weed under his bed and an empty bottle of Captain Morgan under his chair. That was a year ago. Seems like he MAY have straightened-up with that a bit since then. I dunno. I was pretty PISSED about him bringing that into my house. I work with the local PD and I don't need that garbage going-on in my house.

No shit, you're a PD worker!?
I can see how a bit of weed would be a big deal for you. Up here in Vancouver the courts have ordered the police to stop busting people for peaceful drug abuse, I hope the same comes down south soon, too many young people getting scarred for life over silly pot charges, IMO.

I've worked with the PD up here too, but mostly as a result of me being arrested and finding flaws in their policy. I've never ever been convicted since I gave up on lawyers. My last run in I went right to the top, with a constitutional challenge. Right in the middle of my case some dick in Ottawa made it law that such things were no longer covered court cost wise. So once again the law is proven to only work for those with cash.

Now I hope to soon help others with similar difficulties. Not as a lawyer, but as a much more knowledgeable advocate.

I just do IT work for them. But I have very close friends on the PD and spend the majority of my work hours on law-enforcement related stuff.

I am about as anti-drug as you can get. But years ago I came to realize what a TOTAL joke the "war on drugs" was. Nothing more than a smokescreen to "hide" the fact that they were taking away our rights (and our money) with all of this crap and building-up/militarizing the police state and court systems. I'm certainly not in favor of kids drinking or smoking weed and think that should always be illegal. Kids shouldn't be making adult decisions. But what I am (and always have been) is in favor of 18 years old being the drinking age. Either that, or make the military draft only apply to 21 years old and older. Cause if you can be forcefully sent to war when you're 18, then you should DAMN well be able to have a freakin drink! (And this is coming from a 44 year old guy who only started drinking at AGE 43!!!) LOL! Right is right and wrong is wrong. As far as weed goes... I'm generally not a big fan of the sloppy lifestyle and doofus choices of the average pro-weed guy. They make themselves look like buffoons. "We just want cancer patients to be able to get some natural, medical relief!" Yeah... that's why you dress like Jerry Garcia with the tye dye shirt, etc. But ya know... far be it from me to say that a legal adult shouldn't be able to choose to smoke dope. I probably wouldn't be interested in hiring him/her, but then again, I wouldn't want to hire an alcoholic either. So I don't desire to withhold pot heads from their stash by legal means. LOTS more important crap to be dealt with out there than adults choosing to smoke weed.

Man I agree with most of that, but I don't drink except maybe one cold beer on a hot day. So my weekends would be rather boring if I could not highlite my way.
What I'm not into is all the folks I know who smoke everyday and lay around feeling sorry for themselves. Some of the bums I laugh at got Dock Martins on their feet, seems they'd rather sleep on the street than live under their mommies roof, got no sympathy for that shit, not one bit.

So you do IT, well that's one thing I need in order to be a true know it all, LOL. Life's just too dang short!

You'll have to excuse me, I have to unmod a Marshall so one of my buds can resell it. It's pretty much done, but somewhere the inputs are crossed(dang PCB) so you can boost both channels with either volume knob. Should be an easy fix, I don't do PCBs normally, but I kinda like the old time vibe that the JTM45 can do.

Till later then, cheers.

Anything causes a stir at TGP. I mean I do enjoy TGP as well as here but TGP peeps get easily offended/irritated. It's a troll's paradise and it's easy to cause a commotion. Still, I think it's another good place to hang out, just like here.

"Don't agree with my opinion(s) then you're a troll" is a common occurence over there imo.

They also love to label you a hater if you simply don't like something that is hyped up or popular in the collector clique.

I think the clip is bad ass. Leave it. I dig the mus, singing and concept...

I'm one of those who think a laundry list of every piece of gear one owns, had previously owned or wants to own is flat out stupid. Having said that its no big deal as on any forum or board you can choose not to view signatures. I honestly feel people who bitch at that must not be very bright or lazy and probably shouldn't be on the intrawebby if they don't know how to make a simple change to their view preference ;)

I for one thought your sig was a fantastic piece of work, left me wanting to see more! Anybody who can make that should show it! Goin for a read on TGP.

Well it worked, didn't it?!?!?

Rob... From your Whistler brethren, :salute: :salute: :salute:

On a side note I love music sigs. Specially if someone is spouting off like they are all knowing. It's great to go listen to their work and see just how much of their opinion you should take into consideration. It was a cool vid.

Back to the TGP bandwidth concern....I thought that is why they charge an annual fee for membership on the classifieds, to pay for the site. No?

Yeah it's like 10 bucks or something to post. They have a very large participation number and lots of them are supporting members.

Yes, $10 a month to be able to post on the emporiums. I think it's well worth it. Their emporiums are quit large.
