Hey guys I just wanted to chime in and say hi. I've been off the forum and kind of off the grid for a couple of years. I went through a real rough time with gaining weight and falling into a major funk but 19 months ago I started a whole new way of life and this week I broke 90 pounds lost and set to break 100 pounds down by my 53rd birthday April 8th. I have fully regained my physique and health and the funniest thing has happened, I want to make and play music again. This past 2 years I had to shift my focus off of my career and onto my health, fitness and eating but now I feel like I have my mojo coming back. I want to play and my voice is better then ever, back to 4 complete octaves. Insane!

Anyway, I stayed off here because I was just going through a lot of pain and transformation and needed to be in the perverbiem 'cocoon' for a while. I've been missing the scene around here and actually revamped my whole guitar rig this week and started restringing, switching some speakers around and rephasing all my cabs, so I am officially back! Just wanted to say hey to all my RT brothas!

Anyone in Nashville hit me up and lets get some lunch and sling some Pauls.

James

Congrats man! That's a huge transformation, and kudos to you for doing it. It's never too late to start. I'm in better shape and feeling better at 39 than I ever did at 29. Changed my habits a while back. Keep it up!

So Fucking Awesome!!! Congrats for sharing that James.

Awesome man, congrats! That's super admirable progress. Kudos.

My wife changed our diets a year ago, and boom! The weight just disappeared. A little regular exercise, and at 43....I'm close to being in the best shape of my life.

That's awesome man!
Congrats.

I joined a gym about 8 mo ago and am in the best shape of my life at 48. Strong and lean.

James great to hear and couldn't be more proud! I am exactly where you were! I've gaine 65 lbs since the death of my parents and loss of my job. I need to change just as you did! I'd like to talk to see if what u did might work for me also!!!

Congats man! Very difficult to lose weight at all much less 100#. I just turned 53 and also just recently changed my diet from unhealthy-as-hell to moderately-healthy and I feel way better. The beer stays though!

You look very young for 53.

Welcome back! Always loved your videos.. congrats on the weight loss and adopting a healthier lifestyle (and "mind"style) but I would also say that sometimes those last few pounds are harder to lose (even for athletes or bodybuilders) so don't make it all about the number. Even if you keep yourself around 200lbs and exercise, you will continue to feel great. The only other thing I can add is fresh air. I haven't been able to play hockey or work out for 6 months due to chronic back issues. Getting daily fresh air (and crisp winter canadian air) walking my dog in the fields and wooded areas 30-60 min a day has gone a long way in keeping my body feel decent. We often underestimate the importance of sunlight and fresh air.

You will definitely be a very welcome addition around these parts where gear questions are concerned. I am interested in your thoughts on the latest Cab impulse/ IR madness that is sweeping the nation(s). Have you played with these? Have you considered doing some IR's of your rigs? I always thought your recorded tones were crushing. great choice of speakers, cabs, and mics.

It is amazing what diet does.. even more than exercise. It is probably the reason I haven't gained 20lbs since not being able to workout like I used to. My wife is just more mindful of the type of food we eat and the quantities and I have managed to stay more or less the same. Diet really is 85% of it.

Congrats to you James! NOT easy to do - you look great, dude!

Awesome James! Thanks for sharing. I've always enjoyed your videos. Thanks for taking the time to do what you do.

Glad to hear you're getting back to the music. I've always loved your amp shootouts.

Keep up the good work brother!

Glad to see you doing well brother! Strong work! Welcome back!!

Welcome back, James. Sorry to hear about the funk, but glad to hear you have the fire back. You look great! Keep it up

Congratulations. I know that was a tough turn and a long road, so really glad to see this success story.
