The top is so nice on that prs, it has me considering to become a dentist so I can own one :)

Guess I better apply for dental school because I own 7 of them! :D
Having 7 prs guitars makes you a lawyer. :D

On a serious note, I rarely see prs owners with just one prs, they almost always have more than one and love them to death.....

Ha, true!  Having once worked in a music store, I have had over 100 guitars and got to play many more, and for me PRS does it best. I have a few other brands but for a desert island it would be one of my PRS......ok, maybe all of them.

You just have to find the right one's. I think right now they're making their best stuff. I really like the DGT, SC58 or SC245...whatever they call it now, and the 408. I was never crazy about Custom 24's. I liked the NF3 but it's been discontinued because I don't think it sold well.

 They really are at the top of their game now and they are now making guitars for everyone from country and blues players to Progressive Metalheads.

That's beautiful. The pattern is so structured it almost looks intentional.

I wouldn't normally comment on this, but WOW, that's an insanely beautiful top!

Awesome!
One of the more unique tops I've ever seen
Tell me about those pups??

I think they're called 53/10's. From some of what I read they're supposed to be a little glassier than a regular HB, but they're not bad. I was contemplating putting a set of BKP in them, but the wiring looks complicated and I'd have to order the BKP set with a flipped magnet in the neck (to match the PRS polarity).

I played this P22 into my JJ the other day and it sounded so good, I think my gas to put new pickups in was abated...for now.

I'm actually a fan of PRS' newer pickups. Have some 59/09s in a ce22 that I love.

That top man. Hot damn.

yeah there was another guitar I was looking at and had the dealer take pics so I could compare the 2. The one that was labeled 10 top wasn't even close to this one.

About NON 10 tops, like my Stripped 58. Brand new for under 2k.

Sure your guitar isn't Wood Library? Because if not I think they let that one slip.

Nope, doesn't say anything special, which was why I was so shocked when I saw the pics of it. Course these MAP at over $4k

Great top!

I own 2 PRS (1994 CU24 and a 2012 Studio). Neither have a 10 top because I didn't want to have a top I'd be afraid to scratch or ding. But that top is incredible!

That's a special guitar. Sometimes you can get great deals on PRS. The photos below show two guitars I scored with decent deals.

That is nice looking! my 2001 custom 22 has a nice 10 top, but you're right, ive seen them go down through the years.

Yeah good ten tops are getting harder to find. It's a luck of the draw sort of thing sometimes you really make out like the OP did.

That is one of the best 10 tops I have seen lately. Usually you have to go to Wood Library or Private Stock to get one like that.
Agreed... it is a sick top and unusual that it is listed as a 10 top. I'll never understand having to pay PRS 10k for a premium top.

You can get into some sick wood with the EBMM BFR packages in the 2500-3500 range. Check out my 2014 Neptune blue Axis

They are of course different guitars altogether, but to up charge ~6k over a "10 top" to Private stock is ridiculous. I do really like some of their finishes, however.

And yet another clueless person finds his way to Rig Talk.

Did you guys see that John Mayor left Fender and I now a PRS Artist!!! I don't like him but it can only help PRS.

Is that definite? Last I saw he was spotted playing PRS guitars lately but I haven't heard official word he left Fender.
