Played one recently and it wasn't bad. Started looking at black limba ones for sale and they all have what looks like worm holes (?) in the top/body? WTF is this? Nearly $4,000 guitars with holes. Am I missing something here? They can't find wood without holes? Are people actually buying these things? Limited to 50 worldwide, yet there are at least 20+ for sale on Reverb and dealers. So I guess they aren't moving...

That neck looks like chip out from using a jointer or planer because the damage is in the center at the thickest part. Figured woods are notorious for having chunks torn out when going through a jointer or planer where more normal looking and less figured woods it happens far less. Imagine 5% waste vs 25% waste when woodworking.

The body looks like holes from insects.

I hope the beaver damn didn’t collapse when you pulled that random piece of driftwood out from under it

The worm holes are a new age chambering technique geared towards added low end clarity and punch...Read that on Reddit I think.

Just grab some nail finish putty from the hardware store, if your alright losing some clarity and punch.

I don't have the limba version, but just a "regular" 6 string. Its an odd shape for sure, but they are pretty wild guitars. Very light, and the fretboard has what they call "infinite radius" which of course sounds like bullshit, but the board is thicker on the bottom side so when you look down at it while playing, its supposed to be easier to see the whole thing. Whatever, my beer belly also provides the same feature so I don't know if that works or not. The guitar does its own thing, I like it for my cover band as its so light and the pickups can almost provide a piezo type tone with the switch in the middle. I bought mine new, but it was nowhere near $4K...they really increased in price over the last year.

The holes seem not right though.
