Kaizen Guitars: Holes in Top/Body?

The worm holes are a new age chambering technique geared towards added low end clarity and punch...Read that on Reddit I think.

Just grab some nail finish putty from the hardware store, if your alright losing some clarity and punch.
Sustainable Relicing?

I reached out to dealers selling these to ask if the ones they have are full of holes. Here are the responses thus far:

"There are no holes in the body." 😂 When asking about a very clear cluster of holes in their photo... Maybe trying the Jedi mind trick.

"Hello, there are small holes in the black limba body." I like the honesty lol

"That’s how this wood is sometimes yeah." Yeah, when it's junk wood instead of the good shit people are paying for...

"Yes... that was intentional as they wanted the natural beauty of each individual piece to be showcased." Trying a little too hard to sell a defect lol

"Those are actual naturally occurring holes in the wood. Very common with Black Limba." Correction... very common with reclaimed junk wood that served as lunch for some insects.

Especially for a four thousand dollar guitar, by one of the most reputable brands in existence

That's a Open choke 12 gage shotgun some farmer gave to his son to pratice with.

"Spits chaw, Worm hole yer ass"

Not a company for my money.

Ernie Ball confuses the hell out of me. Mid 90’s to early 2000’s, their quality control was awesome.
But They’ve always done oddball shapes (I actually hated the EVH when it first came out) & over complicate their electronics/switching etc. God forbid you ask a question on the forum in regards to an issue.
Their customer service used to be top notch as well.. now it’s usually “sorry, we no longer have that part” or something similar

just the "character" holes ill call them wouldnt bother me if the rest of the guitar was what you'd expect in a $4k instrument, the holes combined with that neck joint though just ads up to hellll nah.

You want fancy raw/natural wood, you get it.

EBMM Kaizen 6 are my favorite guitars. I own 5 - Indigo, Mint, White, Kryptonite, Radium. Not as versatile as my EBMM Majesty 6 (I own 3).

Never liked the Black Limba or any of the raw wood or brown/copper bursts, etc.

If they offer another color I like I'll probably buy it.

Music Man is smoking crack with these guitars. Look at this neck joint. $4,000... wow.

I played a Sabre when they first came out at guitar center many years ago and was appalled at the neck joint it had, I've owned probably 10 music man guitars over the years and they were all perfect but the new stuff they're putting out seems to be slipping bad and their prices are way out there.

I can also see mineral streaks in the neck wood.

They really cheaped out for the lumber for these and are charging top dollar. Sad sad sad.

You can have "fancy raw/natural wood" without the reclaimed wood flaws and shoddy craftsmanship. All of my Mayones guitars are natural wood and none of them have insect holes or other flaws—with the understanding that burls are usually filled because they do have naturally occurring holes. But the holes in these Kaizen guitar appear to be from insects. EB chose to source this lumber. They made a statement that they sourced reclaimed wood on purpose. But they shouldn't be charging $4,000 for it...
