Keeley Electronics Tube Drive - 1950 Sylvania 12AT7WA Tube Limited Edition *_*

You guys
Just grab a ts9 and a Koko boost v1 and be done with it
All you need

With all the tube preamps available or legendary tones hotmod options I agree that there is no point anymore in these types of boosts. Also to your point about the Koko V1, i recently recorded and I went right back to my koko V1 mid boost for leads through my lightly modded 800. That pedal kicks ass.Not sure how close the V2 gets to it but I have often thought of picking another one up because I never want to be without it.

12V , and it has a step-up transformer so the tubes are at preamp level plate voltages.

I'm always wary of pedals with tubes, there were a few questionable ones, like Vox ToneLab where they used an led to make it look like the tube was glowing hot when it was not even close to the pate voltage it needed. IIRC

Some of those low voltage tube drives sounded good though

The h&k and Black Star come to mind

Of course, every other one sounded like ass lol

I love Andy Timmons but I’m not buying anything based off his demos. He sounds like him through any rig he plays and usually has great tone.

You've discovered that lead tones lie in demos 😂

You can never tell how a piece of gear (especially drives and amps) sounds from lead tones alone, and this is especially true with players like timmons who always have a memory man going at full tilt

Looks pretty neat 👍

Yeah, seems like it would be a good fit for you (no pun intended) ...

V3 not the same . I just bought 2 v1s to be safe

Interesting sounding pedal, bet it would sound good as a light od going into an already overdriven amp. I have a BK Butler Tube Driver which has been one of my best pedals, very unique sound. Even if it's not running at full tube voltage. Wonder how they compare

Of course but that isnt the point....sometimes you need or want more juice in either case sometimes.
