You rang 311? I love Jeff, Mark and the Kiesel guys so sure. ??
I notice the I love Gibson button on the wall behind him. ?

That being said, Gibson went the wrong way here. They keep getting beaten down in court, and Jeff is not one that will ever back down to being bullied. Gibson won't get anywhere from this. Did you see Jeff's initial response? He offered a discount of both models in question and then announced a headless Ultra V. Such a Jeff move and I love it. But that is what I mean, Gibson won't be able to pick on the Kiesel guys successfully. ???

Even their single cut looks for enough away for them to be safe. I don't know what the hell Gibson is thinking on the V.

One would expect FMIC/Jackson would take issue with the Ultra V, not Gibson.

C&D worked for smaller builders who don't want to go to court and don't have Gibson-ish shapes as their main products (Tom Anderson, Electrical Guitar Company etc).

When actually going to court Gibson will lose.

Gibson, fuck you. I like my Gibsons, but fuck Gibson as a company and ite practices. Leave Kiesel alone FFS. Picking on a respectable small business is a shit move. I have no respect for that.

That is about the equivalent of Pizza Hut issuing a cease and desist to a old authentic Italian mom and pop joint established in 1954.

Ya this is sad. But funny at the same time

Gibson -‘since you decided to put 6 strings on a guitar...,
We order you to cease and desist. We’ve been doing this years back. ‘

Ya, well, Kiesel had their share of problems a few years ago and took quite a bashing for it I seem to remember, not feeling very sorry for them over this.

This^ Kiesel is far from being some upstanding, ethical, exemplary company deserving of any sympathy. Karma

Was it you that had that absolute shit show of a guitar they made that was completely FUBAR and they basically told you to go fuck yourself over it ???

The Les Paul model is not a Gibson design. Kiesel should go in with the following history...

https://www.gearnews.com/did-gibson-ste ... ul-design/
And then they completely changed the design (to the SG) only to change it back. Sometimes I wish I didn't love my Les Paul so much because this kind of shit pisses me off.

Or maybe??? Gibson is merely demonstrating effort to protect 'their' designs. Apparently that's important if you ever go to court. But nah.

Yep.

On top of being basically told to return it or go fuck myself, Jeff posted a video on social media basically calling me out saying something along the lines that it's a shame when customers lie or photo shop pics of their guitar builds and post them on the internet to try and defile a company's good name/reputation.

Makes me glad I’ve never owned a Gibson guitar. Not on purpose, I just have never liked anything they’ve built. It’s always seemed boring to me, but I know I’m in the minority with that.

Figures they would do this rather than try to compete on a quality/value level. If they priced their products correctly this would not be an issue.

It seems their efforts could be better placed on upping the quality and R&D. Think of like a Gibson Explorer with SS frets and some different pickups like Fishman Fluence, BKP, or Seymour Duncan. Maybe some evertune models as stock? No instead they are trying to coast on their history or trying to innovate with ideas that no actual guitarist wants.

I dunno. About Gibson QC, the 2019's I have played were a lot better than they had been.
