I can't speak for other KSR ams, but my Ares definitely has a Mesa flavor to it. But more like a Mark Series, although the circuit definitely shares some common ground with an SLO, from what I can tell. So it's no surprise it has some similarities to a Recto, since a Recto is also based on an SLO in many ways—albeit with a bunch of changes and additions. But the Rectos are notorious for being hard to dial in. The Ares is the opposite. No matter where you put the dials, it sounds good. And I think the lead channel is pretty much the same across the board with most of the KSR amps. So it should be the same with the Gemini, Orthos, etc.
