Yes . Pretty cool . Peter don’t like it . Says it hard in the amp . But try 4 6il6 with 2 kt88s on outside . Best I’ve found

Well yeah, KT88 draw more heater current. I wouldn't put 6 of them in there.

I haven't tried KT88s in it, but even with six EL34s or KT77s, it gets really, really hot—a lot hotter than any of my 100W amps, and even hotter than an Ampeg SVT with six 6550s. Running KT88s or 6550s in a Herbert will make it get even hotter, so what's the point of frying the amp and stressing the components? As far as loudness goes, I don't know man; I borrowed a Fryette Pitbull Ultra-Lead with four 6550s, and that amp with the master volume at 1 o'clock is comparable to the Herbert at 9 or 10 o'clock. The Herbert is LOUD and has a lot of clear, tight headroom. Do you really need it even louder or cleaner? For me, EL34s are the best match for the Diezel voice in general. They have that raw upper-mid bite that combines nicely with Diezel's compressed, polished vibe.

I guess you tried 6x 6L6 as well? How was it compared to El34?

I hate EL34s in Herbert
It cab bet set rawest and tightest with 6l6s
I felt EL34s made it way messy .

KT-88 and 6550 sound superb in the Herbert, but they put a strain on the PT and OT. They just can’t dissipate the heat and the transformers get hot. They start sounding a bit mushy after a while.

I doubt enough to stop doing it. 2 KT88 and 4 6L6 should be fine.
