Love the way they look, love the way they sound, can't play them worth a shit.

Someone please tell me why the hell I'm looking at them.....again......

I know I'll probably just sell the f'ing thing, but I'm seriously considering buying one

I have issues.....anyone else?

same thing man.. compared to at least a prs for the same price.. im pretty sure the prs beats most of the LPs in terms of build quality looks and playabilty.. i already own a lp custom which i wont sell cause it sounds killer but i tend to find myself looking at new R0's from time to time

I actually have a GREAT sounding PRS 245 that I don't play....which makes me doubly stupid

Josh... I know we have a mutual friend :D

I felt the same way... And I bought so many guitars in the last couple of years I don't even want to tell you... What did I wind up going back to?

A Les Paul... NOTHING SOUNDS LIKE IT, Period! I have PRS's, Charvels, you name it... The thing I never like about LP's was the thick neck... But now I found my soul mate.
A Ebony Les Paul Traditional Pro... It has the 60's SLIM NECK... Well so does my LP Silverburst Custom Classic, but it does not play or even sound like this. I think it's because
of the Pleked fretboard, and nut, low action, and no buzz... That really helps the playbility, And TONE! This thing just Resonates, and plays INSANE. It has a thin Lacquer paint
job that lets the guitar sing... Grover locking tuners. It's the perfect guitar. Out of over a dozen... It's the one I always pick up!

Please Try One!

I'm in the same boat, the Edwards LP I had was an incredible guitar that really sounded great but the neck was so fat I couldn't play shit on it :aww: FWIW I'm used to floyds and the muting angle seems to be a lot different to me on a fixed bridge, seems like it's something that I can't get used to :dunno:

That looks great

So far I've convinced myself that I need a Godtop with double cream pickups, and a black one kinda like that...sort of the Sykes vibe

I'm sick :D

I think the bridge angle is what it is for me, too.

I can play them, but then I get on a strat and never want to pick up the LP again...even still...I want one...or two

Josh, I have the same problem as you. I have a killer 2003 R8 with a Brazilian board that I almost never use. I even re-fretted it with jumbo frets...which made it better, but it still sits almost never used. I would never sell it, but I wont play it either

WTF is wrong with us

Sorry, man, but this is ridiculous.

I used to be convinced there were Les Paul people and Strat people. I was always a strat guy. After playing my Les Paul's more and more I prefer them on some days.

What I still can't get used to is those wide neck shredder guitars. The neck is not thick, just flat and wide, feels like I am a compact car on a big string super highway. My buddy's new Carvin is that way. The old 80's one had a killer neck that was not wide....

9 times outta 10 PRS kicks Gibson's ass for build quality and playability. Tone is always subjective and Gibson lovers will swear till they're blue in the face about how great their LP sounds.....even if it doesn't.

NOW, I'm going to get shit for this from some of you...*cough cough* Digijams, Chubtone, *cough* But I've been playing my Anderson Drop Top and Suhr S4 and recently found a LP i thought i liked, guess what? My Anderson and Suhr play so great i couldn't get used to the LP. I felt like i was fighting it all the time. I guess it's not fair comparing Gibson playability to an Anderson or Suhr though

But if i want to "get close" to LP tone I might go with an Anderson Cobra or PRS McCarty. They're close enough tonewise where nobody in a crowd or recording would be able to tell anyway. I'm starting to put comfort and playability ahead of tone for my needs from the guitar, then for tone i can always tweak my amp, pedals, etc to get the sound i need.

Yes Scott...suck it.
