The first part of his career was a game changer.
I think everyone who was around at the time had to step up their chops,theory and stage moves.
It’s funny how perfect his timing was,as soon as EVH started slipping he stepped right in.
His tone on alcatrazz and those first 2 rising force albums was so fluid and clean.
then he had that car accident.
i’ve been working thru this

he’s an awful teacher but it’s ok
all doughnuts and fury aside he is a Lord!

the beginning of the guitar revolution
japan 1984

the fatvey elvis version-SICK AS FUCK

It always makes me chuckle a bit when these guys wear sunglasses in the studio.

Yngwie is who is...."douchiness" or "sunglasses in the studio", he's still one of the fathers of shred and neo-classical rock guitar!

I like that he's really never changed and can still play the shit out of a Stratocaster!

Yngwie trademarks:

* Marshall Stack
* Gold Rolex
* Red Ferrari
* Leather Pants
* Aviator Sunglasses (optional)
* Frilly Big Cuffs on shirts (buttoned down low-optional)

:rock:

I bought a tape of his in the 80's I think. It was the most boring fucking thing I've ever listened to. But I'm not much into shredding. Everyone else loves the guy, so obviously I'm not right :lol: :LOL:

very clean playing. no doubt he rips. still does. a friend of mine was on one of those g3 tours or what ever they are, and he said the guy ALWAYS has a guitar in his hands, and that he literally NEVER stops playing.

Have loved Yngwie since I brought Marching Out.. still have it on cassette :rock:

Is and always will be the man, don't care what anyone says.

Super influential world wide. :worship:

I love the guy's contributions myself. The Live Alcatrazz album and Rising Force and Marching Out albums are flat out awesome. From my POV you have Hendrix, EVH, Randy Rhoads and Yngwie Malmsteen as the leaders of the game and major game changers. Lot of great platyers since but not with the same kind of impact thos ercats have had om guitar playing

I agree his first few albums were game changers.

My buddy used to say there's three things you never talk about...religion, politics, and Yngwie.

My brother refers to Yngwie as the Jose Canseco of guitar players.

Yep God right there. No one sounds like yngwie. I now have 6 scalloped boards pretty much because of him, I now find it tough playing a guitar without scallops (takes about 30mins of playing to adjust back to a normal neck)

this guys annoying but also kind of fun....can't say I agree with a lot of what he says but meh I laughed a bit

Yep
I saw him for the first of 6 times (on different tours, but twice on that one) on Marching Out, it changed everything in the world of all things guitar at that time. Lots of competition between guitar players then, you could either play what you had chosen to play correctly, or the guys (who played) in the clubs who came to see your band would stand there with their arms crossed right in front of you and shake their heads in dissapointment. Needless to say we did not do any of Yngwie's stuff :lol: :LOL: But there were bands that did.
There was nothing he could not pull off with seemingly little effort. It either inspired you or made you want to quit playing :yes:
The world was a far different place then...
Lots of fond memories of that time

I can see it. Hungover and someone possibly shining a bright light at you for filming. Or your own magnificence illuminates so brightly in the room the reflections hurt.

awesome technique but the usual criticism, get's pretty redundant. Interesting how ihs big influence is Blackmore, but Blackmore is light years ahead of this guy in terms of touch, feel, and musicianship and not even close.

No offense to Yngwie but the listener just gets worn out after a while.

I love Yngwie. Puts on a great live show IMHO. You come to see him shred and he really brings it.
