Yep that's a soloist. I had the 2 SLHT Lightning Soloist until i traded for a 1 Hum T-1000 Soloist.Not a soloist but a hard tail ssh 2 with flamed maple top and headstock

I know it’s not the sequence but my birthday is February 4th. So I didn’t realize it for awhile but it’s an ‘86 feb. 4 is 2-4. J2486…crazy huh. She was born in 1986 I hope to have her for ever, I acquired it in 1989, when I was 19, for $700, from a friend who has Jackson fever when they started doing custom paint themes, he’s here in vegas. It’s been topic for debate whether it was built for “kool and the gang” who traded it in for 2 70s strats. But idk for certain. Only 244 made, so very well could have been.
This is the best built guitar I’ve ever played and I’ve got some good ones.
This guitar has probably done 500 gigs. Love it like my first love. No bullshit, lol.

Quick story, I had gone down to Atlanta with two Kramer Pacers and a pocket full of cash to trade in on this guitar i.e. white soloist. Mid 80's time frame. A store called Metro Music had this in stock. Greg Curbow (from Curbow basses for those that remember) worked there. If I'm not mistaken, this is also a store Grover spent time in a few years before, could be wrong on that that though. Anyway guitars and cash in tow, get there and this guitar is everything I dreamed it was lol. That said two Kramer Pacers, both top quality at the time as they were the real deal, one was basically brand new...even with cash the store couldn't swing it. I was short and the guys I was with were even shorter lol. Curbow goes, checkout this ESP Mirage Custom. So, it's basically the same looking guitar minus the sharkfin inlays...I play around on it, very nice. Curbow gives me the lowdown on ESP i.e. parts company, probably made the parts for the Kramers but beginning to put out their on line of guitars. So I buy it, still wishing I had the Jackson. That said that sent me down roughly 20 years of ESP's. That Mirage was incredible. It led to several Horizons, and Eclipses as they all became my favorite guitars. Sadly the Mirage and my main Horizon are gone now, a painful lesson to keep great playing guitars regardless of the latest fad. Short story long, every time I see a white Jackson, that story and seeing images of Steve Stevens and Gary Moore with their white soloists pop in my head...and I still wouldn't mine having one.

Holy shit, Duckula!85 Soloist Custom, and then two from 1986:
86 Soloist Custom, then an 87 and an 88, both refinished for me:
Another pair of refinished 1988 Soloists, and then the prototype for the late 90s Shannon run
Finally a pair of recent Custom Selects. The seafoam has a Titanium Floyd on it, and now has a pickup ring which matches the pickup

Here is the '87 I scooped up a few weeks ago locally at a stupid price. I haven't owned a Jackson in years and now I want more again (and wish I never sold the ones I had).

Man, that brings back some memories.... Curbow at Metro Music. After he left Atlanta, Greg started Curbow music in a warehouse space here in N.Ga (his family was from this area) He crafted some beautiful bass guitars. Great guy.. used to work on my guitars all the time. He was great at any kind of guitar work. He had a lot of great stories about being on the road as guitar tech for Page, Squier, etc. May he RIP

Yep, great guy. He setup one of my friends with an endorsement for his basses, they pretty much worked it out at NAMM one year and I told him that Jackson story lol. I think at that time he had partned with Cort. He also made custom guitars for a couple of my friends in the Chatt area. I was trying to get one but then he went full on basses. Great guy and I thank him for turning me onto ESP. I always would joke I was playing ESP's before Lynch broke them big lol. Those original run models were just incredibly well made instruments and the price point was fantastic.
