Ok...no meaning that there isnt a guitar player in the band just that he added to the band and most guitarists dont mention him here.
Was listening to some classic Bob Segar stuff and Super tramp. Man I really dig the classic rock tunes. Even listening to some Old Foreigner 4 tracks. Good shit.
Just a couple to start the ball rolling. What other bands out there you guys like that never get any talk around here?
 Van Halen DOES NOT COUNT!!!

  :hys: \:D/

Great topic, love the classic rock. I don't hear these guys get talked about a lot here, but some of my favorites:

Starz
Legs Diamond
Budgie
Leaf Hound
Fuzzy Duck
Captain Beyond

Guess Who.....Randy B could find a great tone to fit the mood of the song, and
he had quite a few......
Eagles, Any era....I even enjoy Glen's solos, especially Witchy Woman....
Have to add The Cars.....Songs were so well crafted IMO.....

Bill

Supertramp Crime Of The Century = Amazing
Cars - Elliot Easton is so underrated
Foreigner - Great band and great music

Hendrix, Sabbath, Beck, SRV, Who, Stones, Beatles, Thin Lizzy, The Faces, Bad Company, Free, Led Zep, ZZ Top, Outlaws, Molly Hatchet, Queen, Pink Floyd, Skynyrd, Deep Purple, Allman Bros, Santana, Seger, Heart, Jethro Tull, Doobie Brothers, Styx, Kansas, Blue Oyster Cult, Foghat, Steely Dan, Yes, Genesis, Reo, ELP, Frampton, Grand Funk Railroad, Foghat, Nazareth, Uriah Heep, Frank Zappa, King Crimson, .38 Special, Marshall Tucker Band, Traffic, Blind Faith, Rainbow, James Gang, UFO, Triumph, Rush, Frank Marino, Ted Nugent, Ronnie Montrose, Tesla, Rick Derringer, Johnny Winter, Edgar Winter, Humble Pie, Alan Parsons Project, Ten Years After, Pat Benatar, Dire Straits, Tood Rundgren, Journey, Chicago, Boston, Jefferson Starship, Aerosmith, Rush, Kinks, Kiss, Doors, Cheap Trick, Sweet, Wings, April Wine, Billy Squier, The Baby's, Pat Travers,

Man, I guess everyone nailed this already, Supertramp, Foreigner, Cars... that early 80's new wave stuff was cool, but every time I see a keytar I want to smash it

I keep thinking Blue Oyster Cult might count, but not really when I remember the "The Marshall Plan"... One of my favorite songs from them is "Veteran of the Psychic Wars" and it's mostly drums and keyboards, but with an awesome guitar solo.

Yeah the Cars.....forgot about them. I have quite a bit of their CD's. Elliot Easton just made the band.
Was listening to Foghat Fool for the City and the Foghat Live CD's couple days back. Great rock there for sure.

Two that probably would never get mentioned here for me:

Wally Stocker (Babys) - love the writing, tone, attitude - just a great all around player.
Mellisa Etheridge - same, just bad ass.
Telsa, was listed, but I never hear much about them - great duo.

Elton John
Michael Jackson

Cool new band without guitar is Royal Blood.

I mentioned Sweet and The Baby's. Love those two bands.

Sugarloaf, was that the band that did Green Eyed Lady? Great Song!

One band I never get sick of listening to is Foreigner, or Lou Gramm's solo stuff, or even Shadow King, although having Viv on that moves it away from the focus of this discussion.

What about Magnum? Anyone?

Any one Tom Petty fans? Love his stuff.
Elton John was a great one too someone mentioned. Pat Benatar as well. Actually had some great guitar work on her songs.

My cover band is playing You Wreck Me from Tom Petty and Stop Draggin' My Heart Around - Stevie Nicks/Tom Petty

Tom Petty is a major gear collector, both him and his guitarist Mike Campbell.
