JD, to be fair, you said, "... who else proposed something similar to that in Germany during the 1930's?".

DT has never proposed anything of the sort. He's consistently said that he's not against immigration, just that it has to be legal.

Our leaders here in Oz have said the same thing - that peeps are welcome to come here but "only in a manner of our choosing". I equate it to running a "decent" nightclub. The bouncers are at the door for a reason.

Besides all this, the sentiment is actually expressed by, for example, Latinos who're living in the US legally. They themselves had to wait up to 10 years for approval and whatnot and become incensed at the idea that peeps can just waltz in over the border as they please. I can relate to this; my family had to wait 6 years for approval when we emigrated here from South Africa.

Almost nobody hates illegal immigration more than those who obeyed the law and stood in-line for God knows how long.

FWIMBW the adherence to the rule of law, the degree of patriotism (in the good sense) and so on tend to be very-high in individuals who took the hard, legal road to their destinations. They make good citizens and taxpayers. A much-larger proportion of unregistered illegals do not and of course you have all the attendant problems such as censuses meaning nothing, which affects infrastructure planning and so on. Not a huge deal when you're talking about a few thousand illegals, but tens of millions? Not so much.

All this and not to mention the strain on the health system. It goes on-and-on, which is why "civilised" countries enforce their borders and require vetting of potential immigrants. I mean, duh. I'm 100% sure you know this.

Just my 2¢ worth mate.

I can back all of this mate.
I'm against quotas of any sort and I'm definitely against unrestricted, unsustainably relaxed immigration laws.
But it's interesting when you see repeated patterns of these things reoccurring such as the preference for white, middle aged male business/corporate executives. While the final outcome of such quotas may be nothing like what happened in Germany under 100 years ago, it's good to be aware of it when it's happening.

Yeah, but you cited employment quotas JD. My answer was to the post where it seemed you were talking about immigration.

AFAIA it doesn't matter what your background is - if it's a possible security risk, you'll likely be rejected at some point during the process, but if not, a delay of perhaps years notwithstanding, you'll be accepted.

Anywho, I thought you were talking about immigration. Employment? All I know for-sure is that DEI "quotas" have been prevalent for a while now both here and in the States and that dare I say it, peeps the world over are starting to arc up about it. Nothing says fuck you like missing out on a job to a lesser-qualified individual and being told it's nothing against you, just that you're the wrong colour... officially.

You can't beat racism with racism. Only no racism can end it.
