Line out on a Wizard

I have a DI on my current amp, and if I hook up headphones, it is silent for when I am recording. I just have the amp always hooked up to a cab and also an xlr to the audio interface. In this setup, the master volume is my level signal. I see that wizards have a line out with level controls. Is this for recording? Anyone use it, and can it be done silently by adjusting amp volume and line out signal? Also, does it come before or after the loop?

Most line outs are post everything..like a speaker out. On the last Wizard I had (2010 MC100) the line out didn't have a level knob. Worked just like the line out on my C+. It will definitely be after your loop. Running a line into your loop return will bypass the preamp and use just your power section, while the line out will take the whole amp's signal, pre and power amp. Conversely running a line from your loop send to another power amp or another amp's FX return will use just your preamp of the sending amp, to another power amp. Like what Metallica did supposedly when running the pre of a C+ (FX loop send) to a JCM 800 power amp (FX loop return of the Marshall).

the line out is after the power amp. I mostly use it for send to a mixer and FX unit for a W/D set up.

Ok. So it sounds like it may blow up my interface, lol.
A line out shouldn't blow up an interface since it's line level. You'll just need to adjust the level control accordingly as you raise the master volume on the amp so you don't clip the converters on the interface. I'd start with the line level set to zero. Then with the amp connected to a cab or other load get the master volume where you want. Then bring up the line level while checking the level on your interface and DAW.

Thanks. That is informative. So the tone is going to come from where i have my master set, but the level will be like a nother gain adjust on the interface basically. That is awesome.
