I regularly go jogging in the forest at night – actually I've returned from a run just now. The funny thing about all those spooky extreme metal and mood songs is that instead of getting creeped out, the adrenaline of a heavy workout turns you into the perpetrator instead of the victim and gives you a pretty insane boost. I tend to really scare the shit out of late dog walkers and drunken teens... which really just adds to the atmosphere.

I knew a couple of the cats in SP. They were out there for sure - hugely industrial - and this was right around the time industrial was the sledgehammer to glam. As fucked up as Skinny was, their message was righteous - stop animal cruelty, stop animal testing, stop inhumane treatment of the creatures.

Nothing on RT is creepier than this.

I've had the pleasure of throwing this into the mix at several of my former parties, and always made sure it was on nice and loud. By a band? Maybe something by AIC or for the really weird, dark stuff, Dimmu Borgir have some really dark stuff. Tell you what; I guarantee the darkest and scariest songs out there probably haven't even been heard by most of us. There are some extremely obscure bands that do some really dark shit that make a lot of this stuff sound like pop music.

Don't know if any of you guys will remember the Texas band Bloodrock, but this was their creepy claim to fame in 1970.

I remember the song well. I was working at a bank at the time, and it really freaked out some of the girls I worked with.
