so this is a preset i've been messing with recently that takes full advantage of the lexicon pcm 80's stereo surround capabilities. i start by running through a tone press comp, into a rocktron rack interface, which splits the signal out to 2 mono line level signals L/R into my korg DL8000r
i have a nice 6 tap chorus sound in there based on the old ADA STD-1 chorus made famous by allan holdsworth and more recently chris poland. i used the delay time values found in the ADA manual and guided by analogkid/ryan the intellifex genius, reproduced them in the korg, and added an additional short stereo delay in the unit as well to delay the internal chorus slightly.
then i send that into the rocktron's stereo mixer input 1,
the pcm 80 is also fed dual mono in with 2 more splits from the rocktron. the pcm is running the pitch FX algorithm card, and there are a lot of customized real time parameter controls happening, responding to input level as well as internal LFO, which i have painstakingly programmed in to achieve the desired spatial results.
but because it is designed as a surround effect if you try to use conventional speakers it collapses into nonsense. and here's an interesting youtube observation
listen to the difference in audio when you link a video using forum tools:
stereo surround fx is destroyed---is it collapsed to dual mono???
(ps like the shirt steve?
