The FX8 works perfect with the BE. I use the 4CM with humbuster cables that made myself. It also does the channel switching for me. I have it mounted to a pedal board along with my expression pedal as you can see here. The cable snake stays connected on the FX8 end and goes into a flight case with the FX8 for a quick, trouble free set up.

I don't play with tons of gain so I can see that. And a lot of people comment on how dark and compressed the BE is.
