Incredible energy and performance.... also second the pound of blow thing having a huge influence on the energy! I like how loose the whole performance is. That's real showmanship right there. Drums are powerful as hell too.

Man, I love me some old VH. I was pretty young at this stage of the game. I really didn't get on board fully until Diver Down, but an older cousin got me up to speed really fast.

I think this is from "Don Kirshner's Rock Concert", the first pro-filmed footage of Van Halen. It was probably their biggest exposure at the time. I would love to have a quality DVD of this and the footage of Oakland '81 that he produced. Looks like a DVD boxed set is coming out, but I really just want the VH stuff.
