Where do you guys all get the winged C el34 from, especially selected for the Mesa bias?
I seen Langrex still has hundreds of Winged Cs for sale and should be able to get you in the range you want.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/3102105190...NCA5VV&hash=item4839fcdfee:g:V7sAAeSwRKlpjbVH
https://www.langrex.co.uk/

The website is screwed up for me currently.

Purchased some nice tubes there last year with the code tariffbuster2025 direct from the website vs ebay for an additional 15% off IIRC. All said and done anything I bought was 30-50% of other competitors prices on ebay. Deals with a lot of military surplus where everything almost everything is brand new or turned on a few times. Wicked deals on ECC81/ECC82.

95000+ sales at 100% on ebay and about 50 years of experience for a reason.

Thanks, I will have a look

Not really; but like any amp they sound better louder. I never found the earlier revisions(F, C) to need a ton of volume to sound killer. The Gs, because they are so dark (compared to F, C, and the reissue) did seem to need big volume more than the earlier ones.
I find that low volume in the reissue is still very 3D/Rich/Organic or whatever term one uses for damn good tone.
It's the best recto to date IMO.

Would you please quit talking about the Dual Reissue
I just got an OG Rev G - mod to C and your descriptions on the RI are killing me.
Now, granted mine was only $1,500 shipped but still.
I'm not a Recto expert like you and others here but I can attest to the 3D quality of mine in Red Modern - no boost needed.
I play it at fairly quite levels often and I'm completely satisfied. Such a versatile amp.

The C mod for 2 ch Rectos is fantastic. So super easy to do, even if you skip the resistor swaps which I did(I wouldn't dare attempt to work on those boards o_O). I honestly noticed a big difference with just changing the gain and presence pots.

No need to buy a reissue if you love the one you have. The problem I have is, when I hear of a different version(F, C, or reissue) my curiosity kills me (and my wallet :ROFLMAO:) and I HAVE to try one.
Rectos are killer amps. If you have a local GC and they get a RI in, give it a shot. Or not since it may make you tempted to sell yours and buy the RI!

See. There you go again

But seriously, I would love to try one. But I am so happy with my Dual right now. I've got it dialed in almost perfectly. I've been messing around with loop options, and settings and it is much quieter than before. Before I chalked it up to high gain amps being noisy. I had gotten spoiled with the Quickrod because it is soooo quiet even at high gain/high volume. And articulate to a fault

I took my normal chain of loop pedals (Reverb-Delay-MXR 10-NS2) and split the Reverb and Delay up into the Single Rec loop, since it is already a quiet amp, and now have the EQ and NS in the Dual. The Reissue would have to be substantially better for me to consider dropping $3,200 on one
