Looking for a voodoo platinum mod JVM 410H or ...... ? (Recommend me something)

So here is the deal - I used to have a sweet voodoo platinum mod JVM 410H. It was absolutely killer, sounded and felt great, but I sold it at a time where I had more amps than I had cash and I needed the latter. Knowing who I sold it to, there is a good chance it ended up with one of the RT patrons. I would love to buy it back, but failing that, I would like that with a similar sound and feel, and I'm hoping this thread will yield either one or the other.

I did a demo of the amp while I had it, I'm going to post it here as a reference. I'm most interested in the high gain sounds, but I would love something that could get the whole package:

Now I understand that the JVM410H is not exactly hard to come by, and I suppose I could get another and send it for modding (though I'm not sure if Voodoo is still doing it). That said, this particular amp I was very fond of.

What other amps have y'all played that are similar in tone and versatility to what I posted? Have any of you bought an amp by this description in the last two years and want to sell it?

It may seem like a weird amp to be hung up on, but I really do miss this one, in a way that I rarely miss amps that I've sold.

Hear me out, I’ve played one of these and it covers a lot of similar tonal ground. You’ll hear what I mean in the first 5 minutes of this clip.

Consider a Boss Waza 150 Amplifier. I don’t think it’s going to have the edge that the modded 410H offered on OD2, but it covers a very similar tonal pallet everywhere else IMO

Great sounds in that vid. I would love to play that amp. I've had several Voodoo modded amps and my DSL with the Deluxe Voodoo mod is the only tube amp I have left. It certainly gets in that ballpark, but not the same. I recorded five CDs with it. I almost always play my fractal stuff right now, but every now and then (when my wife and kid are out) I'll plug in and turn it up. I don't think I'll ever sell it.

I really regret ever letting it go, but at the time it was the only one that I was willing or able to sell.

I'd like to hear that DSL, feel free to share a clip or a link!

Is that the voodoo guy or something?
Yea, that's him. I know he kind of disappeared after his wife died about 8-10 years ago. I think he mostly goes on the road with major bands now doing amp tweaks and tech work. Now and then he posts that he's back to doing mods.

EDIT...I'm not saying Trace is or isn't a scammer. I have no idea if he is as I have zero first hand knowledge on the subject. I was just stating that he is the guy who runs/ran Voodoo Amps.

I don’t know man. Played a voodoo modified JCM800 reissue at GC and much preferred the voodoo mod turned off. 🤔
Could be :dunno:

I mean, the majority of the mod is replacing the transformers and adding a choke, I bet the choke is doing the majority of the work.

I have a 2009 JCM 2K DSL 100 that is stock as a cock & kills small mammals and the secret is really good vacuum tubes.
I think the JVM's are butt ugly and the Vietnam Marshalls are a waste of space.

The JVM is a fantastic amp. I don't know a lot about Trace at Voodoo, but he no longer does mods. I can tell you I had a Peavey 5150II with a Voodoo mod package and that amp was amazing.

As cool as the older DSLs are, part of what I love about the JVM is that regardless of mode, it always has this baseline compression that most the other Marshalls, including the DSLs, miss. That is kind of the thing about the JVM - it doesn't really sound like a Marshall exactly, it's like what a Marshall sounded like in my imagination before I actually got to play them :ROFLMAO:
