another great example of the kind of tones i’m chasing
Eh’I totally dig this, and Im not a bonamassa fan, I might be more interested if he just stuck to one style - his own...for me he's one thing one day, another thing another day...at least with Hendrix and SRV and Gary Moore and Scott Henderson, and Johnny Winter...you know its them straight off the bat. Bonamassa is a chameleon. Granted a very good one.
hopefully the basic sound i’m after is making sense! That old Lance's Metro 45/100 video in the car shop never gets old! Love it.
The Bogner Fish sounds fantastic too agree, with a slightly more "old modded Marshall" vibe.
Maybe a Fender Bandmaster with a master volume installed......give you that clean platform then run fuzzes or tubescreamers in front and at 40 watts not 150-200 watts like a 45/100 amp cranked.hopefully the basic sound i’m after is making sense!
when i had Vic do his HG mod on my Peacemaker, i asked him to voice it towards his Plexi 45 for some of that fatter compressed pushed clean like Lance demoed on the 45/100.

Just throwing that out there. You can also mod the Bandmaster to have more Marshall specs if wanted.
worth a try for sure.If you like how the UA Lion feels & sounds I'd think it should be a good candidate?
Never played one, but and old late 60's Marshall sure is one of the greatest baselines for such tones.
this weekend…Definitely worth a try!

Hey Mentoneman I just remembered the Marshall 45/100 uses KT66 power tubes???? Maybe this affects the exact tone you are chasing???
How about a Marshall JTM45 with KT66's or thrown in some KT66's into your favoite plexi circuit and walla........
This video popped up about a Dumble style amp...VHT D60
