Looking for honest opinions on the Kingsley Constable and Hatchet

I recently picked up both the Constable and the Hatchet and I'm not landing where I hoped on either one. Curious to hear from people who own them — how close do you think they get to what they're supposed to emulate, and what do you actually like about yours?

Full disclosure on what I was chasing: I grabbed the Constable for the EJ, and the Hatchet (thing and it really does well) but I was also hoping it'd get me into late-70s/early-80s EVH brown sound territory. EJ is fine but the brown sound...... it's just to dark and I can't dial anything close. I want to make sure I'm not just failing to dial them in before I move them on. What amp are you running yours into, and where do you have the controls sitting?

interesting, i didnt think the constable was even close to EVH gain levels, but I guess with the extra hatchet gain stage that's certainly an idea/way to get there

TBH i've played both a handful of times and didn't think they were really built to get those types of tones - for EJ type tones, the constable seems as good a platform as any, the really important part is the right fuzz I assumed. Im certainly no expert on either though

I was just captured by their description and reviews around the “plexi” emulation. However EVH was using a super lead 69 but I really thought these were close.
